AOE Practice

Hello. My son and I are fairly new to the game(started a couple weeks ago). We have been trying out all the classes, mostly concentrating on single target killing. We would like to try our hand at aoe killing now(me an Ice/Fire tanker and he a fire/fire blaster). I just want to create a mission full of minions(maybe LT's as we get better), so that we can give it a whirl. What would be the best way to go about this? I played around with the AE a bit but couldn't come up with anything good. The closest I could come was 41 patrols on Croatoa 1, but they were in groups of 2 and spread out all over the place.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you increase your difficulty to level 2 at a Hero Corps Field Analyst, you'll get more enemies.

If you are designing a map to practice, I sadly have to recommend the notorious farm map in AE - Atlas Park City Map 02.

-Very close together spawns perfect for herding
-Good size for plenty of time spent on the map
-Open Outdoor map with plenty of vertical room

Fill the map with the maximum number of each category type. That should spawn the entire map. Then you and your son can duo the map.

If you do this, please add a storyline, mix up the enemies so it has minions, lt's, and bosses, and avoid doing buffing allies (do rescues that auto run away). This way the map can be spawned appropriately to practice both herding and AoE damage, yet not really be done for a farm. Furthermore, if you really just want to practice, I'd use test mode, since it has some fantastic features.

Ok, I'm still struggling with this. I'm trying to use Atlas Park 02, which allows 10 any and 1 patrol. I even have my notoriety set to 5. When I test the mission, they are still only 2 per group and they are quite spread out. What am I missing?

Notoriety doesn't linearly increase the number of enemies in a spawn.

Wiki article on notoriety

You want difficulty 2 or 4 (which both have the same spawn sizes, but level 4 increases their level).
