Zone: Super Speed, TP Foe, and Stealth Discussions
With TP foe, its an ability in the game that can easily be used to your advantage and those who use it are smart to take advantage of it. If you don't like being droned, don't camp the enemy base.
As for speed and concealment, having them simply makes it much easier to play. Not taking it just adds more challenge to the game. Speed, personally, is necessary more for chasing down other players more than anything else, I cannot imagine anyone being degraded for using it ESPECIALLY with suppression. Stealth is typically gotten for the phase shift which is usually the squishy players get out of jail free card, and I don't blame people for getting it. I do not use it on my build as its more fun to survive without.
It all comes down to those who want to make the game more difficult for themselves to make themselves feel more "pro" as a bit of an ego boost, and they just try to bring it to other people's attention by degrading their build. Then thereis the other half who see good abilities and take advantage of them and do not care about the any sort of "reputation" in a video game, and aim to make their play as efficient as possible.
my stalker is em/sr and uses fly/tp/phase. he is very sucessful, nearing 400 rep in a week or 2. of course ive been spending time on my scrapper....After playing this game for a long time, not only do i have reflexes to hit phase before everyone else but i know when, usually when im out of hide because i have blind spots, and i dont want to mess up my camera to look up.
As for a "skilled player", i know it takes skill to be a bad build and make it good, but it also takes skill to be one of the best builds and still be the best, because of competition. If i'm a ss/fire brute ruling siren's with an iron first, i have skill because i can dominate fire/ss tanks, or other ss/fire brutes in arena. I dont play a ss/fire brute btw. I don't drone often, because it makes people mad and i dont get anything, of course i will web someone flying above, to teach them that it's not a safe spot. And even if they know they are taking a risk, well, they risked it, they died.
As for being droned, i don't mind at all. Why? Because i have phase, and if i'm out of hide i should phase so i'm not droned. Also, i'm a hero on my team when i TP the droner. None of my toons i can think of have SS. My blaster has SJ, because as a stalker i know jumping blasters are the hardest to get. He also has TP incase he gets webed, even travel surpessed if u spam teleport u'll go because it's hard to be perma travel surpressed.
Lastly, again about droning, i see it as a defense. When one side (usually villains) push the heroes to their limit, the heroes get some power. They can instantly kill almost any villain, making them low health (have to rest) and far away (takes a min to get back). Aside from that they also get the power to come back quickly because villains are at their hospital.

PvP Redux is discontinued, for obvious reasons. Thanks to everyone who helped and joined.
AS for super speed, i would say its a must have. The reason is hasten first of all. Also if you just have Sj or Fly and say get some webs thrown on you, with TS and the webs and possibly other slows, Your at a standstill. Being like that in pvp usually means death.
As for the stealth aspect of it, i don't get it unless your a stalker or a VEAT. All other At's shouldn't be worried about capping stealth IMO. Theirs no point of it. But getting stealth for phase isnt that bad cause now a phased player can kill a phased player. So its not survival to the fullest.
As for tp foe, its a power and i love it, but i can see droning as taking advantage of it and just being a jerk. I dont mind it though, if i get droned im just coming back and targeting the droner first, but i can see how others hate it specially if your new to the zone. But most of the time its noobs that think they are winning by droning. Theirs a reason you dont get drops off of it.
But to use it in conjunction with your powers on a build, lets say /devices, it can be real fun and also a challenge. Caltrops, mines(if you have them), tp foe, webnade. Real fun combo that ive seen. If your into RP it makes a /devices really look like a ninja.

Any layer of stealth you have is less distance you have to move before your opponent loses you as a target.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
yeah i mean i get that, but i guess i shoulda said that it isnt one of my top priority. If there's another power or something else that can better the build ill take it instead.

I used to roll a Stalker with Hover(without Fly) and TP as my travel powers.
But it's all gone after they made something called Travel Suppress =/
It's not that you "must have" super speed but you will die less if you take it.
There are plenty of good reasons to include the concealment pool. Capping stealth is useful. Phase is nice--as both an escape and to run down people using it as an escape. Three powers in the pool can hold kb protection and lotg 7.5s. There are of course builds where you get stealth/escape from other sources and the concealment pool can be skipped but there are definitely good reasons to consider it.
The biggest problem with fly in pvp zones is the presence of temp fly. As soon as people know you're flying, every single enemy in the zone sprouts a raptor pack and is in the air after you---able to fly without having to make any tradeoffs or pay any costs to actually put it in their build.
TP foe is good for breaking up base campers. Thinning the herd by droning can often lead to your side being able to throw off the campers. Instead of staying out of range, the majority of base campers believe that broadcast indignation will prevent them from being droned and will submit themselves for droning over and over and over.
When you're on the other side and actually doing the camping, you can get kill after kill after kill TP'ing people into your team and killing them. Just like campers will volunteer themselves for droning, people being camped will feed themselves to you repeatedly until the camp is broken.
Outside of base camping situations, tp foe is a great tool for snatching back runners. Especially when you can combine it with other tools like a high magnitude knockback, snipe, holds, webnade, debuffs, whatever it is you have in your toolbox. People are unaffected for a short time after getting hit with TP foe but if you just wait a beat before firing off the attack they will be affected when it lands. It's easy to get that timing down with some practice.
No matter how you use tp foe, you can be guaranteed that some people will nerd rage over it. The laughs you get from that are just a bonus.
I heard some aggravated exchanges the other day in a PVP zone about people NOT taking Super Speed as a power. The argument went something to the effect of:
Biased Person #1: You can't call people who use TP Foe noobs when they're using an intended power as its allowed to be used.
Biased Argument #2: You can't say you're a skilled player when you rely on Stealth and Super Speed, like every other person in the zone. It would require more skill to not use those powers, and be successful.
About TP Foe. Before I posted this, I read the whole "Twixt" thread. I must admit, endlessly droning, seems to accompish nothing; no exp, drops, etc., however, it could be suggested that you are "winning the zone".
About Super Speed and Stealth. It does sorta ring true that everyone is basically using the super speed, while a pretty large majority is trying to add +stealth into their toon.
Anyhow, does anyone around here NOT use Super Speed? How about Stealth or +Stealth? How successful is your toon in zone PVP?
Also, about TP Foe: If the developers wanted it gone, couldn't they simply make a "non-targetteble" area around the drones? For example, when you try to tp a person near the drone's range, the circle cursor goes red...and therefore, can't happen.
I'm just wondering why we blame the guy doing it when: 1) The developers allow it, and 2) we can choose where we fight.
