Psy, Sonic, Fire, and why.
Psy is a good set due to delayed damage, base, will dom and TK thrust HIT at the same time and do 260 damage up front;
Fire is good becuase its attacks cost little to no end, does good damage and recharges in almost NO time;
Sonic is good for the -resist and the extremely HARD hitting attacks.
I haven't pvped with a blaster in ages, and my fire/em is currently 'speced for pve. :/
But what Epsilon said is pretty much true.
Sonic does hit harder, but it has one huge negative aspect - the rooting attacks, especially shout. Psy has faster attacks, meaning it can chain stuff faster. The placate proc is also ridiculously powerful for psy, which no other blaster has access to. And it has longer range than sonic...again because of shout.
Fire basically revolves around just chaining the first 2 attacks. They do slightly better damage than other sets' first 2 attacks, and they're very fast. So fire is capable of high continuous damage....but it falls really short of psy and sonic in terms of burst, because it doesn't have a single true big hitter. Blaze does essentially the same damage as fireblast, so it's purely optional.

Sonic also has a sleep attack that can take the Placate proc. It sucks for damage but it can slot it.
Just saying.
It's also short-range and isn't something that would be used as part of an attack chain, whereas Will Domination is something every Psi Blaster will be using regularly.
I mean, sure, you could slot the proc there (and get a cheap purple set bonus as well) but it's not nearly as useful as it is in Will Domination.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
What mac said. That power isn't really an attack at all. The proc is only effective if it's part of a regular attack chain.
Is TK Blast usually slotted for damage or knockback?
What's really nice about Psy is it has 4 ST attacks, all of them doing significant damage from high range. That makes having a ST attack chain easy. It's an added bonus that Psy is slightly less resisted overall.
I personally can't stand Sonic. I hate the horribly long animation times (although it deals more damage because of that, I still can't take it). Fire/ still does pretty good damage. Haven't finished speccing my Archery/EM but I hear Archery is pretty good for PvP.
I'd slot it 4x Devastation (all but the Dam/End and hold proc), Explosive Strike proc, and Gladiator's Javelin proc. There are some people that slot it for knockback but I'd rather have my target dead than KB'd and leave the KB to the Mind and Grav 'trollers, YMMV.

Actually if you want to get technical about it....all blasters have access to a sleep (flash freeze from cold mastery). I not saying its a fast recharging attack or anything, just pointing out that it is available for all.
Simple question. Fire, Psy, or Sonic for zones or arena, and why.
I ask this because after pvp'ing with my sonic blaster since i12 I decided to roll a psy blaster and i don't really like it. The damage is ok but it takes 3 attacks to do Shout level damage, and on my sonic i can buildup my +dam and -resist and then FINISH with shout..doing alot more damage. Perhaps I'm just used to playing a sonic?
Anyways, what do you prefer for zone/arena and why?
