Talk to the contact (phoning them works, if you can), and select 'Drop the current mission from this contact'. It says 'drop' but it's really 'autocomplete', and you can only do it once every 3 days.
Note that some missions can't be dropped - timed missions and those that award a badge, mainly.

You are probably better off just running the Snaptooth mission, I don't think that one can be dropped. Just advertise on your server channels to form a team, I'm sure you can find someone who wants to get the badge or costume rewards from that mission for a specific toon.
If you've already started a mission, then just pick a different one. Exit first if you're inside it. You'll get a pop up asking to confirm that you want to abandon the current, active mission.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Even if you don't want to run the mission it's easier to simply enter the mission, head to the portal to activate Snaptooth, then leave and finish off some business in WW or what have you. That mission is failable, so just wait it out.
That mission is bugged. If you fight Snaptooth he turns into a Boss version and then an Elite Boss version of himself. The EB version is conning friendly and so you can't defeat him. And he stops trying to destroy the portal, and so the mission become uncompleteable. And it's an undroppable mission.
And so, you can start the mission and not fight Snaptooth and let him destroy the portal and let the mission fail, thus completing it. Or, you send a /petition (stuck) in-game and a GM will complete it for you. They know it's bugged now.

I still have this mission on one of my alts that I'm playing atm, It's a good way of farming those red caps for the badge, once thats done you can attempt to fail it or petition it but as said above, it's impossible to complete.

I haven't played since i12 and I've forgotten a few things... like how to cancel a mission that I don't want to do.
Why DJ-Zero is still bugging me to take out Snaptooth, I have no idea but I accidentally accepted the mission and can't remember how to get rid of it so it will stop taking up a mission slot.
