incorrect password???
There currently is a chat bug that erroneously plops previous keystrokes when you start a line of chat. This same bug sometimes occur when you start to type your password.
If this is the case, highlight the whole of your password and delete, then try to type it again. Hopefully this is all it is.
If not, it does take some time for a password change to take effect.

Make sure you are using the correct password for the game account. You can have different usernames and passwords for the Game Account and the NCSoft Master Account.
According to the NCSoft Support Site, you should also receive a message that the account has been queued for activation and that once that is completed you will receive an email that the account is activated. Have you received this email?
After creating a new account, trial or regular, it may take a bit for the data to sync between the NCSoft account creation servers and the game servers.

i received a confirmation e-mail, i tried deleting all the text and rewriting it... nothing works.. also posted a question on the ncsoft support system.. they replied that they have escalated my issue and someone will contact me... how hard is it to get someone in the game? i must be doing something wrong... maybe i'm registered to a US account and trying to play on a EU version of the game?
You have to create TWO accounts to play the game - One PlayNC Master Account, which allows you to create game accounts for various PlayNC games, and one City of Heroes Game Account to actually play the game.

Odds are that you are using the wrong version of the game. There are two versions. The European version and the North American version.
The name of the executable files in the EU version are cohupdater.eu.exe and cityofheroes.exe. In the NA version they are cohupdater.exe and cityofheroes.exe.
Since you are posting in the NA forums that means you have an NA account so you probably have the EU versions. If you do have the EU versions then here is the solution.
Delete the above two files from your city of heroes directory and also delete the coh.checksum file. Then go Here and download the cohupdater.exe file. Do not move the file into the city of heroes directory. Run it from your desktop. When it asks where to install the game, point it at the city of heroes directory you already have.
It will download and install a copy of cohupdater and cityofheroes and any updates you don't have (probably none of those) and then verify everything. This will be much quicker than downloading everything all over again.

what kind of game is this? i started a trial account (2 infact) and i can't log into none of them... they both work in the NCsoft website, i changed my passwords a few times already but i still get the "incorrect password for account" error message in the game log in screen...
way to go, this will surely help attract new players.
