Starting a team

I'm relatively new to CoX, started playing about a year ago, but let my account expire after 3 months, and I came back about a month ago. Now, I never used to like starting teams (and as I can see from a lot of the broadcasts not many people do) but I'm here to let some other newbies know that they should.

I saw a video on youtube of a team taking on Lusca, and I thought to myself "I wanna do that!" so I got online, and started asking if there were any vets who wanted to do start a team to take it down. Not surprisingly no one did, so I bit the bullet and started my own team. Pretty soon there were at least two full teams, and we managed to take that giant sushi roll down.

I felt really accomplished, and pleased that I'd started it all off. After we were done, five of us stuck around, and we took down Adamastor, Jurassik, and we ended (along with many others) with a MS raid.

I don't remember all of their names, and I don't know if they frequent the forums, but the other four members of my team rebuilt my faith in the game being played for fun and not XP.

Sorry for rambling, but I guess all I wanted to say was to any newbies like me out there, instead of 25 of you spamming again and again "LFT, LFT, LFT!", why not start your own? It can be a great deal of fun.

Kryoman, Ghandi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

I'm not sure he was thinking about superhero MMOs... but it applies!

I've done a "Paragon City Monster Patrol" day, and it was a lot of fun.

I'm glad you found some fire in Paragon City, and I hope a lot of the "LFT!" people read this and become inspired themselves.

Do you know that I actually mentioned City of Heroes in a job interview? I said it developed leadership skills. Leading a bunch of people you can't see through potentially complicated and frustrating tasks through typed commands alone.

www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

In these forums, take a look at the Player Guides >> Guide to Guides section, which contains advice about effective teaming. The teaming guide in my SIG is also good.

It's pleasing that you're developing some teaming techniques. It just takes practice and a bit of communication to give the team direction.

Just remember that as the leader you now have a lot of responsibility to persuade the team to do what YOU want to do
