Hi folks, planning on using my dual build options to make an exemping build, any guides or suggestions on what level to aim for?


The more people I meet, the more I'm beginning to root for the zombies.

In general I'd shoot for a below level 25 build.

You may even want to go below 25. If PvP isn't in the picture at all, the mid teens are your best option. Many characters specced specifically for level 15 can solo Positron quite nicely. I have several toons that do this.

Edit: If you plan on PvPing with this toon, level 30ish is the most preferred......I can't say exactly, I don't PvP.

Just use the TFs as a guide. If you do Positron, what do you want to still have available? A travel power maybe? If you do Synapse, Stamina at 20? Sister Psyche, an AOE or control? Etc.

Edit:
Also take into consideration the enhancement boost scale down from exemplaring. Your single level 50 Accuracy IO might only be giving you a dinky DO's worth of boost. You may want to overslot to compensate if you'll be spending a lot of time exemplared.


Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

You can pretty much mostly 6-slot everything you get at level 30 and below. And since Siren's Call is level 30, that's what I aimed for. If you then take specialty powers after level 30 that don't need extra slotting, such as Vengeance or Team Teleport, you can use the low level build even up to level 40.

At low levels, such as level 15 for a Positron TF, you get hit with a heavy enhancement reduction penalty.

So, you overslot way past ED, shooting for pre-ED figures as high as 110% enhancement, so that at level 15, it winds up being like having 3 DOs in all the powers available to you, which, at level 15, is pretty good (for a level 50 at level 15, enhancements are at 40% of their level 50 values).

I got hasten 5-slotted with level 50 IOs, which, at level 15, is equivalent to 3-slotting Hasten with SOs.

I didn't bother with Set Bonuses since to get them at a low level, the IOs need to be low level which means low level enhancing. And when you then figure in the exemplar scaling reduction... it gets too low.

And so, I used level 50 IOs and frankenslotted heavily.

What I do not understand, then, is why not just frankenslot for values where the individual value of that enhancement are below the threshold where scaling would take place (25 for Dual-Aspects, 43 for Tris and 50 for Quads, although these might be a few levels lower if one is exemplaring to a level lower than 21)?

Basically, what I mean to ask is, for example, would a Smite slotted at 50 exemplared down to, say 15 or 12:

Mako's Bite (50): Acc/Dam/End/Rch (18.55%x4)
Mako's Bite (43): Acc/End/Rch (19.85%x3)
Crushing Impact (43): Acc/Dam/Rch ('')
Crushing Impact (43): Acc/Dam/End ('')

Focused Smite (40): Acc/Dam/Rch (19.3%x3)

so you have:

93.2% Acc/Dam/Rch
77.3% End

which, if I may, is awfully impressive if you are not going for set bonuses and having that available to you all the way down to 21.

Do your enhancements eat the full effect of scaling as soon as you step one level below the "Minor Bonus Threshold." For example, I know in the first Smite example, all of those enhancements would be below the MBT, so I could exemplar to 21 and have full enhancement value, but would I suddenly be dropped to &lt;checks the scale for 20 and 50&gt; 55.3% of total enhancement value just for stepping one level across the MBT?

Bah! The more I look at this the more I confuse myself. I might just blow some influence, slot out a few powers, and see how it works in game.
