Well, you do aggro an enemy if you shoot the dude next to him. I suspect it's something similar.

Nope, haven't seen it myself. Likely you're actually hitting a wandering mob that came from another spawn.

I notice that if I use Rain of Fire I will get attack by groups that have not even been messed with yet.
Any one else seeing this?
