New SF, Not So Bad.

JFA and Chrome Support has had a lot of chatter about how hard Barracuda's SF is, but it's not.

Some things to help you guys:

1) Take at least two MMs if you can... just in case.

2) Don't worry so much about the ambushes if your team has a kin, let them gather about for FS bait.

(Note: Not saying take a kin, in fact take whatever. Just keep in mind your supports strengths.)

3) Prep as you would for a LRSF. I know for 20 merits it's not cool to have to get Shivan's and / or nukes (depending on how you like to run LRSF), but take what you take to a LRSF. (If nothing then Great!)

So, less talk about the impossible and more about how Justice rocks?

(I wrote this while half asleep..)

Last night we ran the BSF in hour+half
no MM's
but we popped 6 shivans + 2 vanguard heavys +3 warberg nukes in the last room. R-man melted in about 5 min.

Looking forward to trying it. It seems obvious that some of the buzz is the same chatter that we heard the first week of ITF. And LGTF. And STF. And RSF.

I was on an 8 person team last night that did ok. We wiped once, but that is probably mostly due to the fact that none of us had done it before. On return, we fought back through the ambushes, got Rman cornered and pounded him into paste. We had a fairly mixed group... 2 MMs, 3 Corrs, 1 Brute, 1 Dom... hmmm, don't remember our 8th... another Dom maybe... but we did not have a Stalker.

However, there still seems to be a bit of a disparity between the blue and red side here. The blue side TF was run in a similar fashion, with people who hadn't done it before, and we never had a problem. I also think the red side SF should be worth more than 20 Merits. I guess it's still true... the devs hate villains.

I ran both the SF (Same as Bridgers) ran by Kat and just afterwards Sass and i gathered a crew of 7 to run the blueside TF. I got to say, the redside is much harder.

Bridger the eigth was a Widow i believe. They kept handing out mindlink

The redside SF was hell on my computer because of all the lag. However after that wipe(through Kat coralling the masses) we were able to find a spot to lure Reich down and had no problems after that.
The redside SF took a group of us 2 hours and 13 minutes to finish.

Afterwards Sassy wanted to do one so we rounded up a group of 7 at freaking midnight! (PST, thats almost unheard of lol). We wound up loosing the blaster near the beginning so it wound up being the 6 of us all the rest of the way through. 3 trollers, 1 defender and 2 scrappers. We had 2 kinetics and 2 rads for debuffs and AM. The Rad really seemed to come in handy there at the end with Reich and the 4 AVs. Took us 1 hour and 45 minutes to finish the TF.

Both the TF and the SF were new to me last night and yeah, i'll definitely say that the redside should give ya more merits lol. Lots of fun though.

Still have yet to give the SF a try (hey, I just realized I've *never* done a SF before! LOL!). Heck, still need to successfully get through the new TF. Gave it a try the other night and it went *relatively* smooth 'till the last mission, when we just couldn't drop Reichsman. Come to find out that the mission leader forgot to drop their difficulty and we were running it at difficulty 3. /facepalm That's what I get for PUGing.

Actually, didn't the ambushes stop once we wiped and came back? We killed a bunch getting back to that middle room, but I didn't see nearly as many the second time around on the AV.

Dr. Kahn is in Founders (on the side of the road near the train) and Barracuda is in Grandville (around the corner from the Fateweaver)

This is one of those strike forces that is trivial to a team of vet players with the right team make up. It is easier than the RSF.

That said, it is also impossible to a team of vet players with the wrong team makeup to complete without having to go get temp powers.

For me, I can not call the SF "easy" because of that second case.
Maybe "Easy but poorly implemented or buggy"

I was on a team with Gad, Tal, Mari and others last night trying the red side SF. I must say it was the most frustrated I've ever been with the game. Our team was mowing stuff down left and right until we got to the last room. We wiped a few times with all the ambushes but that was OK. The worst part, of course, was Reichsman. We could get him about halfway down before he hit unbreakable. By the time it wore off he was almost back at full health. After what seemed like forever doing the lather, rinse, repeat thing we finally gave it up.

Well, there's your problem right there.

We've discovered having a Stalker on the team helps the last mission immensely - they're the only ones that can get into the "kill rooms" without dying, and then trigger the glowies to kill the ambushes.

I was on that SF too, with one of the 2 MM's I would hit him with the Click Temp power and it didn't seem to work. now when he wasn't "unaffected" there was plenty of damage from pets and my Debuffs were working (I was on a Thug/Poison)

And to follow ths up:

Cuda Force Five attempt #2 tried again tonight.

1 Broote, 1 Widow, 2 MMs, 2 Stalkers, 2 Corrupters

Took us.....2hrs, 40ish minutes but we beat it.

It went a lot more smoothely since I basically said "Ok we need to do this, avoid that, beat on this" for the last mission to try to reduce the death-rate. And fortunate was on my side that my Brute-tanking was not fail tonight.

We wiped... twice, I think, with the ambushes and then took on Reichsman, where after with much experimentation we found out that the MM debuff does -not- work in any way shape or form currently.

However, we were slowly whittling him down, until I said offhandily "ok if anyone has a Shivan please pull them out". Then out popped 4 shivans and he went down faster than Kerse at a pie-eating contest.

Soooo not really a fan of how that last mission was constructed and not a fan of how you have to go talk to Recluse after the SF mission concludesbefore you get your merits/badge. However, I think the story in the villain side is far superior to the hero side. Except for the Empowering Reichsman Clue, 1st sentence, 2nd paragraph which reads:
"The machine like it is very well defending."
