BUG: Options Window

Posted

Before, when you changed your graphics settings in options, you had to apply then hit cancel to close the window...because they didn't include a "Close Window" or "Okay" button.

Now, you apply settings, hit cancel, and it resets to the original settings.

The ONLY way to bye-pass this is clicking the red dot to close the window...which sucks because that red dot is super small on my screen.

DEVS: We need a "Close Window" button added please.

I agree. A "Close Window" button would be nice. Or an "Apply And Close" button.

Until then, you can always go to Menu -> Options to close it. Or, like I do, press \ then O to close it (provided you haven't remapped those default keys...).

I agree that there should be a 'close window' button (although, technically, that's what the red dot button is for and used uniformly throughout the GUI).

However, what did you think a 'cancel changes' button was going to do other than cancel the changes you made? For some settings, like resolution, 'cancel changes' had always canceled the change.

Before, the "Cancel Changes" did not reset the "Applied" settings...it just closed the window and cancelled any changes made without applying.

Some settings cause changes without hitting the apply button. The button just makes them stick after the options window closes.

Honestly, the entire Options window needs to be scrapped and done again. Preferably after forcing the dev to read Windows User Experience Guide. I'm sorry, but that thing is a mess. Double-negative options, buttons on the wrong side... yuck. This game has so many great interfaces, why is this one so pathetic??

Not to mention sliders that don't stick and graphics options not all under the same tab. And how the standard is for graphics options to be available in the log-in screen rather than only in-game where you're sometimes forced to reload to make things stick.
