Another thing I just thought of-- I love being a team leader as a tank... it just feels so right! It's all about being the first to charge headlong into battle, directing gameplay and strategy (herding, pulling, etc.), giving advice to newer players, and even putting together the team! I've always loved being a team leader, but doing so as a tank? it was meant to be!

Winning fights I know I won't.
Grabbing that 2nd group the rogue Blaster/Scrapper waded into, wiped and now agroed on the rest and going back to my business.
Letting the Blaster that opened with Fireball die.
Task Forces. The original ones. Though repetitive, the new stuff doesn't have the same allure the old TFC/Hess/Trials have.
I have to agree completely with everyone who's said they love being in the middle of that aggro-ocean.
Pulling two groups together in a tight knot of angry foes and letting my team carve them up in relative safety. There are people who (may be) new to the game that never follow your advice (and faceplant way too many times).
I tank. I survive. So does the team, most of the time
