Elec/elec or elec/wp or elec/Inv
The answer is either none of the above or if restricted to those choices, electric/inv.
Best farming brute: SS/Fire
2nd best farming brute: SS/Shield or Elec/Shield
Be prepared to spend a lot of infamy to get them where they need to be if you're solo farming. You can get by with less if you have a /kin.
Elec/WP. It's got a respectable protection combination of Defense, Resistance, high Regeneration, and high Recovery. It has no weaknesses, and proper IO slotting can make it downright fearsome.
Elec/Elec doesn't have enough Regen, and Elec/Invuln is endurance heavy and has no protection vs. psychic.
Too many alts to list.
Haha, well elec/wp it is then

The short answer is it depends.
Electric has 90% energy resistance. You can face pure nrg mobs in AE, so you would be both survivable and have the end recovery tools to keep going.
Invuln has no recovery tools, but can achieve very high S/L numbers for farming the wall in Cimerora. However, a good WP can do the same thing, hence why WP, would be recommended over this, as WP also can face just about anything else.
Now about electric. If you want to roll one because it looks cool, go right ahead. If you want to roll one because all you want to do is farm, you shouldn't. Here's why:
Lightning Rod:
-Has a 400% dmg cap as it is a pseudopet. At 100% base damage, 180% dmg from fury, and 80% dmg from buildup, and ~95% from enhancements, you have passed the damage cap.
-As it is a pseudopet, any procs in it fire upon YOU, not enemies. At very low health, there is a chance using lightning rod will actually kill you.
-It also has a diminishing damage radius. The further from the center of the strike, the less damage it will do, unlike shield charge (which is totally like unfair).
Chain Induction:
-The XP bug is fixed. Some people still don't know it is and will LOLz at you. Good luck convincing them.
-Procs in Chain Induction make the power adopt the proc's chance to fire as the chance to jump (meaning you could spam Chain Induction for the next year and not see it jump more than 2-3 times). Don't slot procs in it.
Those are the major bugs in Electric Melee.
So, because of the limitations of Lightning Rod, it really is not the AoE damage king. It is still a good power, and it is FUN. It is not the best. Efficient farmers find the best combination to get the most out of their time, and electric is not it.
Furthermore, Electric's single target damage is not great either (and that's an understatement). You will hate going one on one in fights.
So the next time you think "I'm going to swallow a bunch of reds and Lightning Rod them to death", think again.
I have 50 wp brute and 50 Invul brute. I have over a bill in both. When it comes to farming I preffer my Invul brute. Takes alot less damage and almost impossibile to kill on a farm. My Wp can pull off the same thing its just not as effortlessly. My elec I have not played much, just never got into him, been thinking of Deleting him and remaking him as a Wm/elec for a change of pace.
WP.
WP is a balanced set in terms of defences, and does well enough with any one of them when you add in end drain, which lowers their attack freq.
point is, you always have something for everything.
Which one of these brutes would be the best for pling / farming and sitting in the middle of a mob and not dieing I would mostly be sitting in the middle of a bunch of foes and I want to live and not run out of end or hp.
Thanks
