Personally, I think they made the right choice. The RMT prior to the trial restrictions was HORRIBLE.
And the trial account restrictions are pretty much standard issue in any remotely successful MMORPG for the same reason they had to put them through here. It's not like you won't find them elsewhere.

And while this is unfortunate, allowing trials to send tells allows for a LOT of RMT spam in game, which can drive old, established players away even more.
