Targeting Drone and Snipes
No its just for AR. Because they felt guilty that AR did not have Aim, it gives the extra damage to sniper rifle that you would have gotten from Aim.
My AR/Dev skipped both Sniper Rifle and TD. Couldn't fit them in and still have all the gadgets I liked.

I wish they had spread it around to the other snipes as well. Bit of an odd decision, especially since you don't get Build-Up with the Devices set.
Still, Targeting Drone is pretty nice. You can exemp below accuracy bonuses from IOs, more perception is nice when fighting Arachnos, and hey, a bit more accuracy never hurts. I always notice when I switch from my Arch/Dev to any other hero, because Targetting Drone makes it so easy for him to hit things no matter what.

OK, no Aim for AR. It all makes sense now.
Yeah, I don't the point of snipes. In a practical sense, not worth all the high costs involved. In a thematic sense, sniping is not something I see traditional heroes doing, so I'm not sure why it's ubiquitous to blaster sets rather than specific to a few.

Depends on whether you have good sight lines on your target; I've found that with my AR/Em/Mun Blaster, that starting off with Boost Range, Build up, then LRM (all the minions in the spawn go down, boss and lieutenants start running toward me), Snipe (one lieutenant goes down), Slug (second lieutenant goes down), M30 Grenade (boss is knocked down), Snipe (boss goes down) does a decent job of cleaning up a spawn. In the typical short sight lanes of a door mission, you don't always get to use that kind of a layered attack strategy, though.

So, I passed on Targeting Drone with my last respec for my Archery blaster. Just didn't feel like it was doing much for me. My Thunderstrikes have baked-in Accuracy, and I haven't seen much demand for +perception yet. In fact, I think it's just Web Grenade and Trip Mines ATM.
I was wondering about the snipe damage bonus...is it still really just designed to buff the AR snipe? I could see limiting it to one powerset for testing purposes, but keeping it that way seems odd.
