Bizarre Crash Error

So I'd been playing for a couple of hours and was getting ready to log. Heading through the RWZ portal to PI I notice it taking a very long time to zone. Sure enough, after a couple of minutes I get a crash. The strange thing is that instead of the usual single pop-up with a big box to explain what you were doing, I get this:

[image]http://kavenawe.com/CoH-error.png[/image]

The "Copy to Clipboard" text follows.

<font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre>Assertion failed

Program: C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe
Time: Sun Jun 21 07:30:07 PM
Process ID: 7084
File: c:\src\utilitieslib\utils\superassert.c
Line: 1857
Expression: 0

Error Message: CRT abort() called

ERROR: swDumpStackToBuffer - timeout (258) waiting for dumpHeap is NOT corrupted
Last windows SYSTEM error: Not enough storage is available to process this command.</pre><hr />

To which I say: Didn't the CoH beta end a looooong time ago? I wasn't on Test, either.

Weirdness.

Edit: Oh yeah, no images. Well, it should work as a URL&lt; anyway. http://kavenawe.com/CoH-error.png

Cryptic Studios no longer has anything to do with the game either, aside from the game running on their engine.

Likely it is a legacy file that has been overlooked for text editing, probably because it is something that is so seldom triggeredf that the programmers may have forgotten the text that is on this message box.

You can file a bug report on it and provide a link to the image. That's of course no guarantee that it will be a priority to be fixed.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
