I'll take a stab at this. First, this build is not going to be able to solo an AV. To do that requires a significant investment into IO sets. I'll try to break it down for you.

There is a few things that are pretty much needed to solo an AV, there are a few exceptions but when building for AV soloing here's the rules I follow.

1. Survivability
On a widow/fort you need soft capped defenses. Mind Link helps with this a lot, and you'll need to have it up all the time. In your build theres an 80 second downtime, thats almost a complete cycle. In addition your defenses aren't soft-capped even with ML; running mask presence it is, but you have to remember the defenses from mask presence supresses during combat. Mids does not show this in the totals window. I saw that you went with hover, so i'm going to assume that your intention was to stay out of the AVs melee range and peg them from the sky. If that is your intention you need to get at least ranged defenses soft-capped, you're about 2-3% off.

2. Damage
Not nearly as important as survivability when fighting AVs, but has to be enough to overcome the hp/regen of the AV. This is much harder to accomplish on a fortunata then a widow. Fully IO'd I couldn't do it with my fort in any reasonable amount of time. If you are intent on doing it without claw attacks, you have to make sure your attack chain has no delays. You need to get higher recharge in subdue, also you have no damage slotted in dominate.

3. Endurance
The third and sometimes hardest part of building an AV soloer is the endurance usage. AV killing can last from anywhere between 3-20 minutes depending on which one you're going after, resists etc. Maintaining attacks for that long can be difficult but on a fortunata its not terribly hard. A quick glance you seem ok on endurance. But be wary that mask presence is using .21 end/sec and only granting 3.95% defenses.

My recommendation is to scratch that build and start again if you truely want to solo AVs with it. First build it for recharge/defense if you want to keep mind link up all the time, or just defense if you can manage to do it without mind link. After that make sure the attack chain has no breaks, there are posts about arcanatime that can help you adjust this properly. Lastsly make sure that you have the endurance to maintain that attack chain.

On Mask Presence:

You're really not getting a significant benefit out of it with this build. The power's main draw isn't its Defense which, as LuxunS said, suppresses in combat. Rather, its the ability to land critical hits from the Hidden status it grants you.

The problem with having the power in your build is that ranged attacks don't crit from Hide. The only way to take advantage of the extra spike damage is to get at least one of the melee attacks from the Blood Widow Training pool. If, for whatever reason, you don't want to do that then you should either remove the power entirely or take the slots out of it and just use it to hold a Luck of the Gambler +Recharge IO.

You're going to want stamina right at 20.

CT: Offensive isn't nearly as good as TT: Leadership and the latter is much more highly recommended by me.

You'll need to slot dominate like an attack, not a control.

Total domination is a waste of a power for a fortunata in my experience.

You need a lot of +recharge to get mindlink perma on a fortunata. You seem to be assuming the forcefeedback proc will be going off constantly for you - trust me, that's not a viable assumption.

Your attacks are badly underslotted or just badly slotted, and you don't have enough ST attacks to make an attack chain out of.

The bottom line is that your fort will badly underperform and AVs will laugh at her after swatting her like a bug if she tries to solo them with that build. Personally I think having the AOE attacks for teaming is going to leave you without enough room in your build for aid self to give you reliability in your AV-soloing attempts.

Here's a fort build I like for being relatively inexpensive on the basics, since your build seems to bypass many expensive things. Then you can 'grow into' the uniques and special IOs. You end up over the softcap to ranged attacks, and near it to melee and AOE, without mindlink or mask presence up. Quite survivable and no need for sinking a billion or more inf into purples for perma-mindlink on a fort. The empty slot in IW is for the 3% defense pvp global if you want it - otherwise move that slot into health for the regen tissue special or numina: heal IO.

If you want to adapt this to try AV soloing, I'd suggest dropping Mind Link and dark obliteration for aid other and aid self. Hoverblast your AV and keep at range. I'm not 100% sure it can output the DPS needed to solo an AV without regen debuffs, however. I'd definitely crack open excel or bust out my calculator and see if this can put together an attack chain that does I think 130 or so DPS (IIRC, AVs regen 125 HP/s, could be wrong there though), before actually investing in a build and going and trying to solo one.

this is my current build. im going to get rid of strike, move in spin, get rid of dominate and put in scramble thoughts for a mag3 to mag 4.

this toon is very awesome, handles EBs like nothing , can rush into a mob of oranger luts and not get hit at all. only problem is i dont do enough damage. so, i might swap the fightin pool for manuvers and tacticle training:assault and tacticle training: offensive since i tend to miss more than i like.

i have gotten alot of people telling me theyre surprised i can hold my own during farmin and multi mobs.

I don't, under any circumstances, advise removing Dominate from your build. It's a decent Hold but it's the damage that makes it worth having. Combined, Dominate and Subdue will take a big bite outta just about anything.

agreed but, the reason behind it was cause dominate is mag3 and scramble thoughts is mag4.

i want to be able to hold bosses, dominate does it but after to uses on them, sometimes it just dont work and i was hoping scramble thoughts would be a little better.

You do realize that Scramble Thoughts is a disorient and not a hold right?

Scramble Thoughts has double the recharge time of Dominate, does 82% less damage each use and costs about 30% more endurance per use.

Taking that over Dominate is pointless and intentionally gimping your build, but if thats what you want then mission accompished.

i agree now though, i wanted a hard control power but ya . . .i would be losing good damage and a decent hold for no damage and hold.

Well if you need help send me your build in a short forum post and I will look it over and make suggestions to you.

I could really suggest a lot of ways to make your build better, but if it works for you thats really all that matters. If you can do all the things you want to do with your character then change nothing, but if you want to do more then I can give you some feedback.
