I'd like to be able to be a Rikti.

No, not like Kelly Uqua. I'd like to be a Rikti, or even a "Lost" transitional mutate.

Perhaps this would make a good epic archetype.

No ideas for powerets or such. Frankly, whatever names or numbers I could throw up here could/would be hashed, rehashed or outright ignored.

One thing I will say, though, is that playing a Rikti character would probably work best in a system similar to the Arachnos Soldiers, with the branching structure to choosing how you level and what you become in the end.

Food for thought. Ducking back out of here again...

Look at that. A full-grown woman pulling off pigtails. Her crazy is off the charts.

Oddly, not that infrequently asked for and suggested (either as costume parts, or full-on archetypeness).

And every single time... I concur most soundly.

Still, it does get brung up periodically.

As long as I get to have the stop sign or yield sign on my chest and have a TV helmet thats all I care about. They should release those as costume pieces now anyway.

lol... this is very funny and interesting. Although I'm thinking on this idea to take it alot farther than just costumes.

How about being a real Rikti, or Rularuu (or whoever you spell it)? I'm talking about you could actually be this species or play as a traitor to all mankind by being a human that has joined the Rikti or Rularuu side. You would play the game through as an Agent of the Rikti, CoT, Council, Crey, Nemesis, Hellions etc... moving your way up the ranks and storyline for any of the said NPC factions. In PVP zones you would be an enemy to both villains and heroes... but in PVE zones you would be on a probationary status so to speak and can only be attacked by NPC's that would normally attack any player.

All this can I guess kinda be done already if you have a little imagination and like to Role Play your toons. But yea... I would love more Alien Costume pieces.

I imagine that if something like this were to be conceived into an actual virtual fact... you could choose Alien as your origin... this in return would allow a costume piece to be unlocked for you every time you achieved a level that is a multiple of 5 (5,10,15,20,25,30 etc) from your Alien Contact/Trainer (aliens & traitors just have to have different trainers) lol. Maybe even based off your AT, only certain costume pieces would be unlocked at each of those levels. Then people would say... oh that must be a tank, cause that's a tank costume piece or thats a controller cause he has a controller costume piece.

Oh well... I shouldn't read stuff like this. It'll get my imagination to working lol. Its a nice dream though anyway. Can't imagine seeing anything like what I said in the near future. maybe in i251 lol

I made a hero with this concept named Not a Rikti Spy

Radiation/Psy defender modeled to look like a Chief Mesmerist. Was always at zone invasions encouraging everyone to surrender to the rikti, was caught stealing DNA from random heroes and generally earned the mistrust of every cape.

Having an AT to do the same thing again? Heck ya!

Seeing as the Rikti costume parts are highly customizable color-wise with that new feature on Test, and seeing as my main blue-side character is in all respects (save for the actual costume) a Traditionalist Rikti, I think it's fair that we should eventually get them, archetype only or otherwise.

Only potential problems I see are the physique scales (Rikti seem to use a male skeleton with the invisible shoulder size and arm size scales increased to give them their appearance) and certain animations.

I wrote something like that up once, where you would branch into Chief Soldier, Gunman, Chief Mentalist, Communication Officer (basicly MM) or Guardian.
In order to have both ranged and melee attacks on certain ones though, I would have the Soldier's defensive toggles give a self-DeBuff to Energy damage attacks. Choose to be a ranged combatant: give up your defenses for a bit. Choose to be a harder target: do quite a bit less damage at range.
