Quick Noob Question About Enhancements

Based on enhancement slotting, you can get enhancements up to three times higher than your own level. With that being said, at level 50 is it possible to get level 53 enhancements either through Wentworths or Merrits being that you can only slot them up to level 52 before it maxes?

51+ enhancements sometimes drop from the highest-level enemies, I think they follow the same rules as other SOs.

You can get level 51-53 enhancements as regular reward drops; they aren't particularly hard to find if you play max-level content a lot. Especially with the difficulty turned up.

So yes, you can slot 53s, or combine with 51s and 52s.

I don't believe you can get 53 SOs from ticket or merit vendors, however; the slider seems to stop at 50 for enhancements.

But since there is some supply, I'm sure you can get 'em off Wents.

Sorry to nitpick, but I like to throw my two cents in whenever I see "noob" used incorrectly.

You, sir, have asked a newb question. There is nothing wrong with not knowing something and asking about it.

A noob says "nuh UH, thtz not how it wurkz. U play this how long? WTF dubm"

If you're fighting 51, 52, or 53 foes (by having large party size and high difficulty missions), you will get above lvl 50 SO drops.

51, or 52 can be ++'d out to get lvl 53 efficacy. which is something like 39.3% enhance for schedule A.

When I came back to CoH, most of my high level toons had Pre-ED builds, full of lvl 53 SOs and HamiOs. I noticed that after ED, 3x lvl 53 SOs in a power puts you at 1.1% less than 3x lvl 50 generic IOs, so, since I'm both pathologically stingy and lazy, some of my characters are still rocking 53 SOs instead of IOs for powers that tend to take only one kind of enhancement (i.e. Hasten).
