Why is everything soooo expensive, i mean the items aren't but a simple small room is like 60000+ infamy. How do you get all the infamy? Do you get like infamy bonus' for every person in your SG? Help me please.

Operating under the assumption this isn't a troll post I'll list some ideas: <ul type="square">[*] One correction - base item prices are in prestige, not influence/infamy[*] We (the players) don't know how the devs decided on these prices[*] Bases are intended for groups of people, presumably in cooperation - ie. sharing costs[*] Along that line, each toon (of the first 15) added to the SG gives 20K prestige[*] Playing normal content in SG mode builds up prestige relatively quickly[*] You can also exchange influence for prestige at an exchange rate of 500:1[*] Most prestige costs are liquid - ie. you pay 100K for a room... if you later delete
that room, you get that 100K back... An exception is for crafted items (teleporters,
for instance)[*] Many of the prices were recently reduced, so they're actually better than they used to be.[/list]While there is a lot to their implementation that is arguably questionable, the simple
fact is - that's what the prices are, and you'd have to ask the Devs why, and whether
they'll be changing in the future...

In the meantime, GL and welcome...

First of all - you are spending Prestige, not Infamy. Playing your character in SG mode is how you earn prestige.

Next - yes, you get a gift of 20,000 Prestige for the first 15 members to join your SG. That initial 300,000 Prestige can get a pretty nice basic base up and running. There are some guides stickied at the top of this forum which will help.

You will probably want to start with purchasing an Oversight Center (3X3 room, costs 50,000. That room can hold a basic Energy/Control item (costs 25,000) and a couple of Workshop items.

Bases are at least a small group activity, not really a solo activity. That being said, a solo Base is possible and has een done by many people. I will leave it to some of them to chime in with tips &amp; pointers.

If you have the slots available on your server - make alts to fill all your slots. Invite someone you can reasonably trust t the SG as well. Have the second person invite all your alts and then quit the SG - voila! 240,000 Prestige. Many of the folks who regularly post here in Base Construction are willing to be that second person for you. I can do it for servers other than Liberty, Infinity, Triumph or Guardian.

In addition to what FourSpeed and Ad Astra already said, you should have any low level alts play in supergroup mode til **at least **25. Up until lvl 25, it's free prestige and doesn't eat into influence earned. After lvl 25, you lose some inf. by playing in prestige mode, but it's not bad at all anymore (it used to be really really horrible), and a lvl 50 running missions in SG mode can really pull in the prestige while earning influence and other rewards (I'd say recipes, but most people are doing MA these days, so the "other" rewards could just be tickets, or badges, or any other number of things.)

And another point I forgot about, but saw in another section so I came back here to edit this one: Have any active characters log out near the base portals to work on the base monitor day job. for a brief time after you log in, you gain a bonus to prestige earned. It's a big help when you're just starting out.
