why can't i delete my first character *DELETED*

The name is case sensitive. Are you making sure you have capital/lowercase letters in the right places? For example, if the character is named elessar, and you type Elessar or ELESSAR, it won't delete.

Yeah. There's no reason to delete the content of your post, because it doesn't remove the actual thread, just whatever you typed at the beginning.
