you need to be on the ground for hurl boulder and fissure, you *shouldn't* need to be on the ground for seismic smash.
Psi Tornado is the same as the Defender/Blaster Psi blast version, it has a chance to do Knock-up

Why /duel is a bad idea
I don't know for sure, but I suspect Hurl Boulder (which pulls up part of the ground) and Fissure (which stomps on the ground) require you to land. I believe Seismic Smash works in the air.
Psionic Tornado does knockup. It won't scatter things all over the place.

I'm in process of working a flying Grav/Storm controller and I've been set on the earth epic pool because I've always like hurl boulder. My concern now, however, is if I'll be able to use the earth attacks while flying.
There is no mention of there being any conflicts with using the earth epics while flying but I've been burned in the past in regards to this type of thing (Lightning Rod while flying).
So does anyone know for sure if you can use hurl boulder, fissure, or seismic smash while flying?
If not, I'd be interested in picking up Psionic Tornado. Does this do knockup or knockback?
