Right now you can't rename a SG unless the name is a copyrighted name. A lot of people have asked for this, but so far there has been no word on if it will ever be done.

Nor can you "merge" SGs to my knowledge.
Sure, you can have all of one SG quit that one and join and join the other, but all the first SGs Prestige & Base are lost. The closest we currently have is the Coalitions system.
Also, I think to help answer your "question behind the question" - if you were relying on an active SG for team building, I suggest you join your server's global badging/teaming channel or one of the cross-server special intrest groups like TheMarket or BaseBuildersInc. SG Coalitions can also be used for team formation.

What I'm saying is, when you have two super groups with very little active members, and you merge them together, it would be nice to rename the SG so that both SG's would have a say in the name.
Now obviously they merge into the SG that had the best base, most prestige, size of base and what not.

I think (honestly) I'd rather keep both bases and just coalition them, depending on how much work went into each. But that's just me.
Not that I'm against SG renames, mind you - but the biggest problem, to me, would be making sure that everyone approves of the name. (Or at least those who care one way or another.)
Does anyone think it would be fees able to be allowed to change the name of a SG when two SG's merge and want to use both names or combination of names for the new SG?
A lot of people have quit this game and it shows in the SG's. Merging SG's is a good way to weed out the quitters and form a group of dedicated players.
