RIP sets for only some MM's.

My /SR has to go to pool powers to slot a Steadfast for +3% defense, it's not fair~!
[/ QUOTE ]
A more appropriate example would be if SR could not slot the Steadfast unique at all, unless it was paired with DM or Katana. In that example, DM/SR & Kat/SR would get a benefit that other sets paired with SR would not.
This is what is happening with the RIP sets and MM's right now.
[/ QUOTE ]And again, the Recharge-Intensive Pet Damage sets were never meant for standard MM pets in the first place, so the analogy doesn't need to fit that well.

OK, but what is the negative of allowing MM sets to accept them? If it is somehow overpowering, then no MM primary or secondary should be able to accept them. The only reason, as far as I can see, was that prior to the recharge change to pets, the RIP sets would have increased the recharge rate of the pets themselves. That is no longer the case.
What is wrong with giving players more options?

[/ QUOTE ]SR cannot slot Achille's Heel: Chance for -Res unless they're Katana, Dual Blades, Claws, or Broadsword (and DB and Claws can only slot it once)

Ive been warned before for giving the response I'd like to; so I'll just say that I like the uniqueness of each MM set and think that some being able to slot the RIP sets while others can't is just fine.

Its created a bonus for certain secondaries or primaries that was probably unintended. By that I mean I don't think anyone on the dev team thought "Hey, lets give /Storm, /Traps and Thugs/ Masterminds a much-needed boost!" when they first made these sets.
[/ QUOTE ]
The game is balanced around SO, not IO's. So the dev's really don't care.

[/ QUOTE ]The devs do include IOs when figuring the maximum potential for players. SOs are just the baseline for effectiveness.

That is a good point and ultimately I don't care that much either (as I noted above, I am taking full advantage of this on my thugs/traps MM) it just seems that this is yet another way that the stronger sets have been made stronger (thugs specfically) and weaker ones haven't been helped much unless you want to play /storm (I am thinking specifically of mercenaries here - which are generally considered the worst of the MM sets although ninja's have thier own problems as well).
