How do you stack the unstackable base items?

Some items found in the base editor can be used to stack other items on.
First, there was the Magic Desk. You can always place items on desks.
After I13, other items became useful for stacking - primarily floor safes, one of the lamps and the floor tile.
Other items push out from the walls - a different one of the lamps and the cubicle mainly.
There are guides stckied at the top of the Base Construction forums, along with many examples - go check them out. It can be a bit more involved than can be quickly answered here in PQ.

Safes are a good item that can be used to stack. Then theres the white floor tile right next to the safe. Put that on top of the safe(s) and then you can put anything you want on the floor tile.
The floor tile is the same size as a floor square, so 4 floor tiles will cover a 4x4 room. Stacking to raise floors in a 2x2 room gets tricky.
I've seen this in a few bases. Take the carved stone table for instance. I noticed in one base I visited recently that someone had stacked these to create an entirely new room. Yet I somehow can't figure it out.
