Dark/Fire Question

Has anyone run one of these and would you be kind to tell me any experiences with said sets.

I haven't tried FA and wanted to plus I just love DM.Going to look at some of the FA Guides,but any input here would be appreciated.

You will have 2 heals and 2 endurance recovery powers, so on paper it looks good. I have never played the combo beyond the teens though so I couldn't say how good it would be. I believe there is a guide in the brute section you can look at that will help.

My most recent project has been a DM/Fire, just hit 33 last night. I have enjoyed it quite a bit so far, especially DM - I'm kinda kicking myself for not trying DM sooner. The /Fire side is ok, nothing special, nothing bad. Its effective, and Healing Flames is great with just the four slots I have in it now, let alone when I put the other two in. I do have to put a disclaimer in - my experience has been skewed a bit because I activated a second account and have had a pocket Emp running around with him from lvl20 on, though its really just for buffs and I rarely use the heals. 20% Def from Fortitude can't be discounted though when discussing my experience with /Fire.

DM is not known for AoE, but I have noticed that Soul Drain->Dark Consumption->Blazing Aura is pretty damn effective at wiping out a spawn of +1's. Not something you can do every spawn, but when both are up its pretty cool.

Overall I think I would probably be just as happy with the character if he was another secondary. I picked /Fire simply because I had never played it, though I certainly don't regret it. The Dark Melee is what I really like about him.

I've played this to 37 on a brute, and these things I must say:<ul type="square">[*]It's tight. Lots of great powers that want lots of slots.[*]It's versatile. You can be a solo buzzsaw and rip up boss spawns, or you can use your damage aura to hunt bosses and watch their minions melt. In teams you can manage aggro pretty well and protect squishies with burn, or you can use burn to melt opponents with an AoE immob backup.[*]It's recharge-dependent. Every good power you have is a click and more recharge brings it up faster. [*]It's lots and lots of fun, but it kinda does have the breaks off.[*]A single -knockback IO makes it a lot more palatable.[/list]

Yeah I was thiunking of going for some positional defense bonuses from sets to utilize the -tohit form DM.

Do you think around 20ish would be good?

Should work nicely. Keep in mind though that the only thing it will really be effective against is whatever you happen to be actively beating on at the time.

I figure with enough res and the fact Siphon Life is part of my attack chain. With Healing Flames I should be able to get away with it long enough to clear the spawns.
