Whats good for pvp scrapper
Scrappers do "well" in PvP. They are good starter ATs. Just dont be one of "those" guys that just spam Lazer beam eyes and nem staff.
Primarys that do well are Broad Sword, Spine, and Fire.
Armors that do well are Regain, Fire, and SR trailing behind.
The most common power combos people use are BS/Regen or Spines/Regen. Regen is a hard cookie to crack. With tough or phase even more so. Spines has impale that goes well with lazer beam eyes and can immoble a squishy so you can get into melee range easyer.
BS has more burst melee damage than spines just lacks the ranged power. But headsplitter crits are just NASTY. disembowel is no slouch either.
Fire melee is a weird set. Greater Fire Sword hits like a truck and the other powers do alot of damage but a good portion comes in dot dot dot. You wont see the big orange numbers you get from BS but in the end it edges out BS and Spines in total burst damage.
Fire armor offers really solid resists and a solid self heal. Along with a 2nd +Damage power. WIth tough your resists become fairly impressive. It just has no KB protection so you need to slot for it and take acro. I personaly like fire more. It is less easy mode than regen and has more damage potential.
I really like fire/fire with phase for zones. People moan about a scrapper getting phase, however I have not been able to make a sturdy fire armor yet (even with tough I still was defeated to much). Phase is also nice cause you can chase your intended target after they hit their escape button.
As far as fight club many consider fire/regen to be the most dangerous all-around scrapper. Amazingly I have seen fire melee cut through things with capped fire resist...like my scrapper/brute.
I am PL in RL.
Freedom- Magnet Man, Hott Sauce, Stand-Up Comic
fire or spines. Regen is the way to go, though if you are decent running and don't shy away from phase then /fire armor can do some great things and offer up a heap of extra burst damage.
OK excuse my "dumbness" but by phase do you mean phase shift?

Most people that play scrappers have Downs...but yea..what krytical said...i have been told, that fire does more dmg then Broadsword...and what ever you do, don't take spines. When i'm in zone, the only thing about spines that annoy's me is that the DOT keeps me out of hide..and thats about it...the dmg is pretty bad. So go either Fire or Broad and you will be fine. On a side note...fire might be better in zone because the fact that the DOT will keep stalkers out of hide longer for the blasters to kill them. O yea if you go regen make sure you get confront...-75 range is sexy..and it stacks. Just be smart and know when to use it. It will get you killed if you don't use it correctly.

I agree with you about Fire, however, I think MA is better than Broadsword, Eagle Claw hits slightly harder than Headsplitter, and it has a 100% chance of a 2.4 secs stun. Throw 2 dmg/mez HOs in there and you're looking at a 4 secs stun, this will allow you to easily catch up for a follow up, especially against squishies that have no stun resistance. Not to mention toggle dropping, which is something Fire and BS scrappers don't have access to.

My fire tank w/ tough is at about 43% fire res iirc (haven't logged it in months), so I doubt a scrapper would be higher.
Do you mean in the arena with DR off?
So does that mean MA>Fire? And what do you mean about taking confront...(once againe excuse the noob pvp player questions) what does confront do in pvp?
My fire brute had like 70% Fire Resistance in zone with DR if i remember correctly...might be wrong though. I don't know about MA...isn't the only attack that MA has is eagle claw..dmg wise. Confront is like Taunt....that has a Debuff if you will to range. It does -75 range with each taunt. It stacks too, so you basically can make a range toon force to fight you in melee. Taunt/Confront is great in pvp, people just don't realize how good it is. 90% of the Tanks and Scrappers in RV on freedom do not take taunt (El Chido One LMAO). Most of them look at taunt as a PVE power and do not realize how OP that power can be. It's ironic because most of the Brutes in RV do take it...maybe that's why blue side is always getting its [censored] kicked. Nothing pisses off a blaster more when they have a corrupter/Dom to 10 HP and gets taunted lol. (Krytical).
BTW, Confront is AOE so don't bite of more then you can chew. Also, last time i checked Taunt was auto hit in pvp. I'm pretty sure confront is too..just not 100% sure.
Are you sure it was after DR was applied? Or did they lessen the dr curves since the first few months after i13?
Umm..i have the fire shield+Plasma shield+Temp Protection+Tough...i can't get on to check the exact numbers..but i do think it was around 70% fire res.
Yea i was in RV when i checked it awhile back.
Yes my fire scrapper has something like 71.2% res to fire in RV.... and For taunt the -range is auto hit but the actual taunt needs a tohit check. Its cool either way either they get the debuff or the get the debuff and you messed up their targeting.

Oh sh*t I just checked the toon. lol I stripped it quite some time ago. Enhances would probably help
doh.
OK since I was nicly told to get off the scrapper boards with this post and bring it the PVP section...
Ok...this is gonna be my first serious attempt at PVP.
What IM looking for is a scrapper that can do PVP and excel at it. Id like to have types, reasons, experiences, builds, whatever.
Im a complete noob to PVP (Ive attempted with pve builds got owned /rage quit pvp lol )
Any and all serious help is most welcome...I am tryin to expand my horizons on this game. I have been playing since beta with breaks. I just got back from a break of a few months so learning this who AE thing etc.
Thanks
