I'm constantly revising my build it seems. Magnus is now at 49 and I'm about to respec him. I have been looking at other threads, such as maximizing /WP survivability. I have made changes and now have my final power and last 2 slots in doubt.

I chose resurgence for the final power because I thought I didn't have any extra slots left, but I have the two. I can consider super speed there instead, or, since this latest build minimizes my recharge, I could drop hasten as well and go for two completely different powers. Also, I'm not completely sold on darkest night because most of the time I don't need it, and when I do it will be heavily resisted. So that's three possible powers and 7 extra slots to play with. I'm pretty good with the rest of the build, i.e, everything before lvl 44.

Any suggestions on what to do with the last three powers and 7 slots?

Where do you struggle, what normally kills you?
Have you found any weak-points while leveling?

Darkest Night is still useful if you ever plan to solo and AV. The damage reduction portion of the power is still useful even though the to hit debuff isn't. It's also pretty nice in groups when you fight large spawns. Solo it might not see use depending on the size of the spawns you face, but casual solo is not why people recommend it.

Your power choices look solid to me. Since you are running low on slots Resurgence isn't that big a deal if you keep it or not. You have enough attacks, and you took all the good defense powers. I see no harm in keeping it in your build if you like it. The only power I would suggest is maybe Dark Obliteration, but you don't really have the slots left for it.

Speaking of slotting I would consider putting 1 more into Soul Drain as I feel it's a bit lacking for accuracy. Your build will mulch regular content, but if you want to try to push your limits you want Soul Drain hitting as many foes as possible. A single accuracy IO is good, but you can probably pull something from a set too. Your final slot could either go to Quick Recovery for another Perf. Shifter proc, or Health. Your frankenslotting in your attacks looks fine, but I played with replacing the two non-sets with Pounding Slugfests for 8% more regeneration each power. I think I did that and went with 3 in Health. 2 Numina's, and the Regenerative tissue. I believe it brought the health regeneration to about 717% with 1 target in RTTC for 75hp recovery.

Keep playing with the build. I think it looks pretty good even though I am not a huge fan of trying to build defense on Willpower (My WP tank however... big fan of that logic). Before you respec at 50 maybe think about doing the respec on Test to see if you even like the powers before they are IO'ed. Other than that good luck!

I was doing a Ghost Widow mish where we were fighting the transcended Paragon Police guys (me and my wife, who plays a SS/WP brute). There were a few purples and they killed me 2 or 3 times. That mish was really hard. Then we fought Citadel as a hero at the end and whupped up on him.

Frankly, there's not too many times when I'm really in trouble. And if I do get in trouble, there's demonic, SOW, and purple and green inspirations to help me, not to mention shivans and nukes.

I occasionally run a little low on endurance. I'm not too sure how my current build matches the build I've posted, in terms of recovery and endurance drain. This build would probably be better in that regard. I'd really like to have two Chance for + endurance, but I can't even afford one.

I forgot to mention that I have around 100M infamy on this toon. But I'm enjoying him and expect to make him my main, so over time I should be able to accumulate the infamy/recipes/enchancements I need.

Of course, the main weak-point is lack of AoE damage, but that's kind of a given with these powersets.

I have tried builds with Dark Consumption and/or Touch of Fear, and find I just don't use them too much, although if I continue to have end problems, I can see using DC.

The main toon I duo with is my wife's SS/WP, so there is nothing to stack touch of fear with, outside of the to hit debuff from my DM attacks.
Hopefully that answers your questions.

The awakened PPD use energy attacks with a -def component so you have to rely on your heal and regen against them. That's probably why they seemed tougher than most enemies you face.

As for AoE, you could replace SoW and Resurgence for Dark Consumption and Dark Obliteration to help with it. The damage isn't spectacular, but it's better than nothing. You can also slot the knockdown proc from Ragnarok in DO for some help mitigating damage.

Overall it looks like a good build worth a run on test to get rid of any loose ends.

For my DM/WP, I took a different route and focused on maximizing my +recharge. I'm not sure if will be more or less survivable than yours since I'm still leveling him up, but it might be something to tinker around with in Mids.
