Im finally getting around to getting sets for my Bots/Traps, and I was fiddling around with Mid's, and came up with this.

Just a note:Hasten is a godsend for traps. You'll want to look into it. And with hasten you'd get more mileage out of stamina cause you're actually doing more ^^;

what wer you planning to do with this build?

couple problems

1) no poison trap - it's -regen you can keep up permanently. remember biff and widdershins? the assault bot alone isnt enough for them unless you drop your mission down to level 1 or 2. and you shouldnt, you're an mm.

2) web envelope has no -kb. get mu for electric fences

3) leadership is meh.

4) when solo, having hasten is pretty important for locking down bosses and for taking out eb's/av's. and with hasten, you dont need to setup so many global recharge sets.

5) frankenslot the pets. your current slotting doesnt have enough defense to be worth the effort - nor should it actually matter. you yourself dont need to be softcapped, and the defense from 5 bits of blood mandate do nothing for your pets. frankenslot the pets with acc/dam from all 4 sets, then acc/dam/end from two others. in probots slot 3 acc/dam, 1 acc/dam/end and 2 defense buff io's. in the assault bot, lose the resist io unique and replace with the defense io unique - it goes farther on a set that already relies a lot on defense.

6) in all the time i've had my thugs/traps, i've never needed aid self. not once. that's soloing every av including positron in the 40's AS +2 av's and when i farm nasty crap like huge spawns of super arachnoid bosses.

I have poison trap right now, and I honestly cant remember the last time I used it.. between dropping Triage as it comes up, Mortar, tossing Caltrops and Seekers, Aid Other and dropping reds on my Assault Bot, and web envelope.. and I have no idea who "Biff" or "Widdershins" are..

How exactly is Leadership "meh"? Team-wide 15% damage buff, more Defense for my bots, and enough To-Hit buffs that I don't have to worry about them missing.. for a Mastermind, I cant see not having Leadership.

I don't have Hasten and I have no problem with EBs and AVs. I really dont see a need for it.. it'd be nice, yes, but so is Stamina, but my current build is level 50 without either.

Every other guide Ive seen reccommends placing the def uni in Bots and the Resist Uni in Assbot.. best of both worlds. But I like the thinking for the other enhances, thanks!

Aid Self has saved my life literally hundreds of times. I wouldnt give it up for the world. I'm a Combat Mastermind.. Im right there in the front lines of my bots tossing traps and directing where to attack, and I draw a decent amount of attention. Could I live without it? Yes.. am I gonna keep it? You betcha

Thanks for the advice on the enhance slotting, that's what I was lookin for help on, not so much the power choices

how can you have missed biff and widdershins?

they are arachnoid eb's with regen that puts regen scrappers to shame. my bots/traps couldnt kill either without using poison trap for it's -5000% regen for 40 seconds.

poison trap is also great for preventing runners in huge spawns. run in and drop it and things are choking/held for long enough for you to get everything rooted. it's also a damned fine place to hold a basilisk's gaze set for recharge and more recovery.

below is my thugs/traps. it's a beast. not a single av - even those with massive tohit buffs and defense debuffs - have been any issue. i even solo'd lord recluse as a +2 AV.

yo uarent stuck with black scorpion. i did the black scorpion arc last year. i'm mu now. you can pick ANY patron pool you want now and can respec out of your current one if you dont like it. i couldnt imagine playing my bots/traps without electric fences now. nothing more annoying than hitting an entire 8 man spawn with web envelope, onlyi to have the assbot knock them around and spread them out immediately after - and then only hit two or three with incendiary missile burn patches. that is a HUGE waste of potential dmg and just prolongs fights that dont need to be..prolonged..

anyway..my thugs/traps on live now. rather inexpensive to build.

all of my pets are softcapped defense. the bruiser has like 40% resistance to most things. bug..thugs is hax cause of gang war.

below is my bots/traps on live right now. also rather inexpensive to slot. it's a tiny bit squisher overall than my thugs/traps becaues it cant slot the extra 5% defense io unique and oftentimes when the bubbles wear off on the assault bot (my tank), they are a little slow to refresh them. this much recharge allows me to overlap triage beacon. and like you - i'm right there right next to the av or eb's i'm fighting. i move entirely with team teleport on both characters to ensure that none of my pets (and myself) are ever out of range of the ffg. i despise having to replace pets often. if i can build a toon to not have to replace them often - that's what i'll do.

if i were to make another bots, it would have to be a /ff. tought fights would be longer due to no poison trap but really - poison trap doesnt suck at all. if a mob is in the cloud and taking no dmg..they just sit there and puke. and i still get av's to puke constantly.

Hm.. I thought you were locked into patron choices, even thru respecs.. groovy, ill go change to Mu then.

Tweaked it a bit.. dropped Aid Self.. still have my Leadership toggles.. Hows this? (Yeah, I know I took Protector Bots at 14, I noticed after I slotted my last enhance slot and didnt feel like changing it.. i would take it at 12.)

my only addition would be an explosive strike proc to all of your pets. It's a bad damage type but procs are non-resistable on some targets so it can be a godsend on long AV fights.

Drop Repair take Hasten. Find a way to fit Achilles proc into acid mortar. It is not a damage power, it is a debuff. achilles+mortar=-40% resists.

I dont feel like looking at all the different set abreviations and tinkering stuff out, but i have a bots/traps build u can look at to check out ideas. The two blank spots in it are- caltrops blank is for the p vs p chance for -resist pbaoe set IO; charged armor blank- resist+def p vs p unique. Im not saying ill ever get my build finished because of the cost, but i try to build ideal and then work towards it. And as a sidenote, this build was made specifically because i wanted to be able to have a lot of defense so i could trip mine much better, part of the reason i went with bots to begin with. If i ever get the p vs p defense IO, ill have roughly 43.5% melee, 56% ranged, and 49.5% aoe defense while under forcefield generator. Oh, and not all powers were taken in that exact order. I couldnt stand not having an attack early on, so i took Photon grenade early and put repair off until lv. 47. I may have taken seeker drones a bit earlier too. Acid mortar with 4 procs in it is simply awesome, but it does indeed need to have a bit of accuracy in it, hence making sure it has a bit in it.

you dont need an attack when talking about respec builds for io's or second builds for io sets. not even as bots. in fact if you really feel the need to get an attack, slot electric fences for dmg.

in fact a dmg slotted electic fences = 50 dmg. photon grenade with same slotting? 55 dmg. LOL
