Anybody up to a Leveling Pact with a new villain?
Can't help with the former as I don't have any characters in the appropriate range, but both Brutes and Corruptors start out strong and never really let off.
What's 'fun' for you depends a bit on whether you like living on the edge or prefer a bit more safety.
I really enjoy my Sonic/Kinetics Corruptor. He almost has it all. Great single target damage for soloing or killing key enemies on teams, a suite of amazingly useful Buffs and DeBuffs, infinite End past Transference (I so love Stamina-less builds)... the only thing Kin lacks is a solid defence for soloing. Which, incidentally, Sonic provides with a reliable cone Sleep. It makes for very easy cruising solo, and you retain the ability to single-handedly double a team's efficiency.
Fire/Cold is at the other end of the spectrum. Your Primary is pure offence, and tons of it. It falls to Cold to give you a bit of defence, but it won't be much since you'll draw aggro sooner or later with all the AOEs you're throwing out. Still, again you can gain infinite End. In fact, you can mitigate the drawbacks of Nuking enemies if you hit enough targets with Heat Loss. Just use it BEFORE the Nuke, not after. How cool is that? Oh, and you're also well-equipped to DeBuff mobs of chaff or single Hero-class enemies to the point where they're as dangerous as a kitten playing with duct tape.
On Brutes, you can hardly go wrong. What to pick depends on playstyle and concept, really. You will however want to pick something that caters to your strengths. Stone Melee's big damage numbers on the intermediary attacks are fun, but you have a harder time building Fury than Dark Melee for example. Energy Melee is rather pointless and has the ugliest animation of any melee set in a key power. Unfortunately, Super Strength has the second ugliest animation of any melee set in a key power, and is probably the pound for pound best melee set out there right now.

Brutes just plain rock. Started a Fire/Stone recently and loving it. Like Eis said, you really can't go wrong on a build, they all work very well. If you love feeling like a freight train on full throttle, Brutes are the way to go. I've played Fire/Stone, but don't have much experience with it yet. Even so, you'd be hard pressed to find a bad Brute set.
Corruptors, on the other hand, rely on tactics. Balance your buffs/debuffs, and ousmart the enemy. Once they start to falter, then the beauty of Scourge kicks in, the most thematically evil of all Inherants IMO. If you prefer fighting smart and then smashing your enemy when they're weak, go with Corruptors. I've played Elec/Storm, and I am a major advocate of the power of Storm. Chaos FTW.
Other than that, Stalkers make for great soloing, Masterminds are Gods of Offense, and I hate Dominators. I've played Dual Blades, which is fun, and Bots, which is hilarious.
The off-beat space pirate...Capt. Stormrider (50+3 Elec/Storm Science Corruptor)
The mysterious Djinn...Emerald Dervish (50+1 DB/DA Magic Stalker)
The psychotic inventor...Dollmaster (50 Bot/FF Tech Mastermind)
Virtue Forever.
I should probably clarify. I actually have had CoV since it came out I just... haven't made any lasting villains.
I know tons about low level villainy. Nothing beyond level 15 or so, though.
And I have decided on a Plants/SOmething Dominator.
Welll... I'd offer to pact with ya, but I am completely and totally unreliable. Like, seriously.
Otherwise, I'd whip up a Dual Blades/Something brute to try out and pact it up.
Well, here's the deal.
I'm desperate to make a villain that I can actually play for long periods of time. Unfortunately, every time I start one, I get bored. Quickly. Usually around level 12.
Fortunately, every time I go up a level, it encourages me to keep playing. So then I thought, what better way to actually keep playing a villain... than to have someone help me go up levels!
...
Yeah, I'm sad. I know.
So does anyone feel like joining a leveling pact with a character who is yet to be made? Anyone at all?
...
Please! I'm dying here! Help me, please!
PS- Oh, also, I need help thinking of a fun villain archtype/power set combination. Kthxby.
