Character detail

On my old 6300le character detailed was at very high, and I could see characters at a far distance in full detail. I have a 9800 now, and despite having character detail at very high characters appear triangular and all blobby / un-detailed in distances. Is something wrong or anything I can do to fix this? It bugs me so much.

You might have "Depth of Field" effects turned on. That distorts things in the distance. I prefer having it off.

There are several different settings that interact to control what level of detail you see at what distance, plus possible driver issues. Please post your CoH Helper info so we can make recommendations.

Have you gone into forceware and turned off those custom settings for programs?

I'm not sure what that means or how to do it, not very computer savvy.

[/ QUOTE ] I think he's referring to the NVidia control panel where you can change options on the hardware itself.

I need more details, don't see anything about forceware or programs in the control panel.

Even in the regular Windows Control Panel, there is an "NVIDIA Control Panel" icon. Not sure why you can't find it. You may also get there by clicking the NVidia Logo that may be in the bottom right corner of your taskbar.

That's where you can change the settings for your video card directly. Sometimes those settings can override the in-game settings, so it may be helpful to change them there as well.

"Forceware" is just the name of their most recent GeForce packages which includes the driver and the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Oh, that thing. Ive messed with all those settings to, they have been kept at default and believe they are the same settings my older card was at.
