air superiority for a scrapper
You used to be able to knockdown enemies while they were in the stand back up animation, now they tend to be able to get up and attack once before being able to be knocked back down. It's still a lot of protection.
To knock anything down you need to overcome their knockback protection. With AV's you won't be able to do that with Air Sup.

Air Sup is still an awesome power for just about anyone (my controllers use it for damage-dealing AND extra mitigation). Only time I DON'T use it is if the character should not be in melee and needs to hover (perching blasters) or if the character has a weapon (katana, claws) that would have to be re-drawn after using Air Sup.
AVs are essentially immune to knock* effects, but they can be vulnerable for very small windows of time. For AVs that have a small vulnerability you can knock them for ~2s out of every 75s. Other AVs are, as far as I can tell, completely immune.
In other words - it's neat when it happens, but don't plan on being able to do it with any degree of reliability.
