How about I qualify the no drama being no ooc shinanigans and people acting like 5 year olds. I'd expect drama (storytelling) from an rp group. 
By OOC shenanigans, do you mean that there be no OOC moments? I'll admit there are some bad OOC moments that happen here and there, but having some silly OOC moments here and there are good! Having stuff like that happen helps the SG band together a bit more by making everyone feel more comfortable RPing with you. It's a combination OOC and IC thing no matter what, and finding the right balance in a group is what you should aim for (even ina story-driven SG or static team, no matter how serious the group is).

Welcome to Virtue, Paladin! I'm a light/action RPer myself, so I can't offer much help as far as recommending a supergroup.
But if you're heavy RP, you should check out the Mission Architect. Write some good stories for me to adventure through!

Heh. Any sufficiently large group of players is gonna have some drama, I fear. We're human, after all. There's always gonna be competing egos, misunderstandings, and general Internet silliness.
But there's some good groups out there. My own SG doesn't recruit, but I can recommend the Shield of Paragon coalition - not a single RP SG, but a group of 'em. Good folks.
You might also wanna check out the current SuperGroup (Hero) Directory thread, stickied in the Virtue server section.
Good luck finding a group that fits you. Don't be discouraged if you can't find a home straight away - I drifted for quite a bit before I hooked up with the folks I play with now. Cheers!

For heavy RP I can suggest the 'Paragon Universe'. Join the global channel of the same name to meet our highly insane (inane?) group of folks. We have weekly rp nights and rp TFs and Trials, and little to no drama. Either that or I'm blissfully unaware of any drama we do have ;P
The 'Paragonian Knights' (see link in my sig) also has two RP subgroups, the Grae Acadamy and the Honor Batallion. I'm not active in either of those groups so I cannot speak to the drama levels

Right, so I'm new to CoH and scoping out the game. Mostly, I'm looking for supergroups that are into heavy rp and no drama. My first char is a near-human extra dimensional soldier assigned to Earth to report on the goings on here back to his home dimension. He fights crime mostly because its what his oaths compell him to do. Any groups out there who think they might be compatible? Feel free to drop me a line or reply or look me up in game as Toran Kor.
