I will Review Your Arc - VIDEO STYLE!

*sigh* Once again? What once again? I assumed it was a defeat all yes, back when I PLAYED IT.
Mandu, I am going to say this in the nicest way possible: GO away.

Stomp... dude...
He meant "once again" in the form of "I'm saying again for everyone that missed it that..."
He wasn't implying, I don't think, that you spent multiple hours going on about his defeat all that wasn't a defeat all.
That said, you have to remember something about this kind of review. By posting your play through unedited you're opening yourself for a harsher kind of critique: Playstyle and commentary. A reviewer generally has time to read, and re-read a review, often playing through the mission twice if they want to be sure they get all their details right. By doing a 'as I go along' video you are going to be open to people saying things like "dude, it's RIGHT THERE".
Now that said, I think the concept of the video review is awesome and I'm even tempted to do something like that myself if my computer can handle the video captures in chunks or to pare it down with the editor later.
Not to rub salt in the wounds and I'm a little late to the party, I think neither of you is blameless in the mini flame fest that brewed up but neither is horrifically at fault. Mandu got defensive because of his percieved unfair rating and you got defensive because you felt that people weren't appreciating your efforts to bring something new to the table, and to give up your time to review someone else's arc.
I'd say if you like it, stay with it, though. It's a really catchy idea and you might get a following if done right.

Essentially, the type of review he did was a Let's Play, which tends to do a full run-through of a game (or at least a level in the game). It has it's strengths and weaknesses as a review style.

I wonder though if those people tend to do a runthrough twice?
Hmm.. the wife and I did a 'opening the box' experience podcast of our first moments in Northrend when the Warcraft expansion came out. We sat down, started recording and then started playing, actually talking our way onto the boat, into the new zone, talking about what we'd read with the new expansion and our first impressions, so I do 'get that'.
But we also didn't do so much blow by blow either. Hmm... ya know I was thinking that something like this almost requires two people to play to provide dialogue rather than just one commentator, something like a Skype call recording to go with the video.

I tried both your arcs Thalomarre and had to give up because 5 defeat all missions in a row does not make an arc.
What's that you say?
They aren't defeat alls?
Neither is mine. Once again Stomphoof made an assumption that was incorrect. The first mission is click one glowie, defeat one boss. And the cargo ship is the short one with 3 and a half rooms and was picked specifically because it was the smallest number of rooms of any map with the exception of the casinos.

"Once again" is a phrase that is often used as shorthand for "I said this before but I guess I'm going to have to say it once again." I didn't even think of the other meaning of it.
As for going away? Nah. The only reason I'm hanging around here is to see if you do another review. In the mean time I'm responding to people who say that I shouldn't have complained about your review but instead just changed my mission to make you happy. Or people who are making assumptions about my arc that are just plain wrong.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!
This seems to be veering off course o.@
QR - Here's my opinion, for what it's worth.
I think the idea of a video review is excellent.
However, your first review I think suffered in a number of ways.
You didn't come across as being very well-prepared. A scripted introduction to your character and preferred playstyle would have set the scene better, and also a rundown of the description page and possibly a clearer outline of what the missions entailed.
You didn't take very long to read the briefing, but maybe you are a speed reader. In any case, the resolution of the screen is too small for us to see the briefing text, so you should have given us a verbal overview of what the mission was about. 'So, essentially, nemesis says that something is something, and he wants me to investigate a cargo ship to find out something' for example.
Once in the mission, you should have commented more on the aspects of the mission rather than banging on about your brute so much. You didnt mention how the nav instructions came across, what you thought of the entry popup, you didnt stop to check whether or not the custom mob had any description, or make any comments about his costume or dialogue. You're supposed to be reviewing an arc, not advising us on why to choose Willpower Brutes. One of the problems i have with reviews by Brutes is I think that the AT encourages fast play and discourages pausing the action to examine a plot point or mob costume during the game.
The glowie incident was unfortunate. I viewed your video in fullscreen mode, and i could hear it quite clearly in the middle room. it seems from the video that you had some music playing; perhaps you should turn this off when reviewing so as to give the arc your full attention, and then there will be less chance of you missing something important. On your first pass back towards the front of the ship I thought i spied the glowie flash past, and then when you returned it was quite clearly visible to me. When you're looking for a glowie, jumping around all over the place isnt the best way to do it imo. Admittedly, the glowie was one of the smaller ones, but as a reviewer, you should give the arcs you're reviewing more benefit than others. You should have started it again to make sure before issuing your potentially damaging assertation that there was a 'mission-breaking' design flaw in it.
I also echo other suggestions to edit out the loading screen unless you can fill the dead air with useful commentary.
I look forward to your next review.
Eco.
EDIT: I don't want you reviewing mine, however. its got a cargo ship map, so you'd hate it
MArcs:
The Echo, Arc ID 1688 (5mish, easy, drama)
The Audition, Arc ID 221240 (6 mish, complex mech, comedy)
Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 (lowbie, 1mish, 10-min timed)
Ok then, review mine. Dorothy is Dangerous, 98685 one mission, not an arc. 4 EB's one AV, not easy. seriously fun for group play, and very short. over 100 reviews so far at 4+
it is all learning curve. if i look back at the first couple i reviewed, they weren't good. it takes a fair number to get a good review groove going. it will take a few tries to work the kinks out. you are getting feedback on your reviewstyle, which is unusual but potentially useful. keep at it...
way to try and steer the thread back to topic cap' amazing
