/Fire - Resistance set
/Shields - Defence set
I would probably pick /Shields in my situation, soft cap all three positional defences, moderate resistances, a few team buffs, good survivability, and that I prefer /Shields.
You could still create a good theme with a Fire/Shield Scrapper
The fire shield should be able to fit your theme pretty good. Once your level 30 get the Fire aura as well.
As a /shield scrapper, how would he pick up the Fire aura at 30th? Is there a IO that grants a damage aura as a power now?

Aura = Costume item from quest at lvl 30.
Like you, I absolutely love themed characters and playing my Fire/Fire has been so rewarding. You can't do wrong with either, so why not make both?

I use the energy shield colored yellow, plus the fire costume aura for mine. Works really well.
Well, you have a point, I could just make both, and then just keep the one I want. Or just keep both to fuel my alt-i-tis !

Okay, so I want to try out a Fire Scrapper, but I am undecided as to what kind. I was thinking of going Fire/Fire for thematic reasons (I love themed characters), plus it looks to offer some great damage output while being pretty well rounded. But I was also thinking of rolling a Fire/Shield instead. I was wondering if anyone who has tired these combinations (or has any input on any of the mentioned powersets) could help me out here.
