I would like to see the report or what happens to some of those toons that get a bail-out Pingu style on the 31st.

last year Fluffy Da Draggon was a lowly lvl 1 plant/therm troller (they were just released in the game) Now he sits with 80% of the IO badges, lvl 39 with 90mil what he made spending a few hours racing for badges, Costume contest, waiting to race through a Hazard zone was only 15 mil. I didnt know Iltat at that time or really any of the Pingu. Its changed more so this last year, random running into them and having fun doing game stuff.

edit: only reason he is not 50 is I got bored with trollers

Champions meaning the server in CoX , right? (Sorry I'm a bit of a newb still) I thought you were meaning that ... well frankly I'm not sure I understand this at all. Sorry!

Means he's going to give it away in costume contests or just random acts of kindness to either SG mates, or random strangers.

I personally don't approve of this, as the inflated amount of currency in the game has deflated its value, and doing things like this only deflates it more-so.

For every billionaire that has made their billions flipping, crafting and marketeering, and not farming, I salute you. Not only are you pulling currency out of the economy via crafting fees and market fees, and not putting any extra in, only dealing with what's already on the market, you're also hoarding all that money you've earned, which will very likely never all be spent entirely by you, thus taking it out of the economy as well.

The billionaires that hoard their cash and do nothing with it increase the value of the influence/infamy by the simple fact that there is less of it, which is what this economy desperately needs.

Sounds like you have no clue how the market works, or the game economy in general. Characters make way more influence/infamy just playing the game than any moneysink could ever take out of it. If you really wanted to slow down the flippers and ebil market pvpers, STOP LOWBALLING THE STUFF YOU'RE SELLING. You are in control, not them. They bid what they do because they know there's people just dumping stuff into the markets for cheap. Take their profit margins down past a certain point, and it becomes a waste of their time, and the people that are buying because they want to use your recipes/enhancements/salvage will still be buying it.

And Iltat is doing something with his billions. He's spreading it out amongst the players. He and the Pingus do it every year. The only reason he builds up his kitty is to give it away.

Huh? What?

Read slower.

I LIKE MARKETEERS. I LIKE FLIPPING. Hell, I'm a flipper. It doesn't matter how little it helps to take your fair share of money out of the economy. It still helps.

People that receive those millions and millions of currency, basically for free, have not learned the value of that currency, and will not spend it wisely. It's like giving a kid a $100 bill and pointing him at a souviner stand in a tourist trap. He's going to pay $100 for the first thing he sees that looks cool, and if there are other people around, they will get the perception that that item is worth $100, and the perceived price goes up.

I aspire to make that much money. I'm still a budding marketeer, working on their first billion. I'll use it to fund myself, spend what will likely be only a small portion of it on builds I only once dreamed of. I will never give that kind of money away, because in this game everyone has a chance to make millions if they have the drive for it. Free hand outs, in my opinion, only train people spend it just as quickly as they obtained it, and to complain once they've spent it all.

So if people want to spend their money by giving it away, that's something to frown upon because the people they give it to don't know what to do with it? WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT THEY SPEND IT ON WHEN THEY GET IT? And how do you know those gift-receivers won't know what to spend it on? And why does it matter to you one iota what they choose to buy for themselves and how much to pay for it? If you're a seller/flipper, as you called yourself, you should be happy as pie that there'll be a few more multi-millionaires out there to blow their wad on stuff they could get for cheaper if they were A) more patient, or B) more market-savvy.

Interestingly enough, you're shooting yourself in the foot.

You see, if you were giving that child $100 and sending them into a tourist trap, then you're not helping yourself in any way. In this case, not only is it your child, it's your tourist trap too. You see, I'm giving people billions of influence and then pointing them to the tourist trap that is filled with my own overpriced items. While I won't necessarily get all of their money in return, you can guarantee I'll get some of it, as will all the other marketeers, including yourself.

I'm actually giving these people money and sending them into your tourist trap. You're welcome.

Seriously, the fact that I continue to make money off the market boggles my own mind.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. I've camped two crafting niches since I started. Profits go up and down, but they're never down enough that I care to take five minutes to find another niche. I think people either don't check the difference between recipe and enhancement costs, or don't care that they throw away a couple million when they want it now. I understand that. I'm terminally lazy myself.

On another note, I think I agree with everyone in this thread on every side. No, I'm not sure how that's possible either. I must be tired.

Well, my anniversary party's today, so it's time to give away all my money. Final tally is:

10,088,000,000 influence

In an hour, it's time to start making some instant millionaires.
