It's not just with Mac's. I've had the same problem with the PC version. I have done a search in the past though and found nothing yet on the forums about it but that doesn't mean the answer isn't there. Hopefully some one has an answer for it.
This is a known issue, I believe.
The answer to this is obvious. Remember that these MA mission arcs are actually considered Task Forces by the game engine. They are not regular missions. In a Task Force, only the leader can talk to the contact.
When you both choose different TF's only the starred leader can initialize the TF and get things rolling. Also remember, when playing a multiple mission arc, and you add more players half way through, they will not be able to enter the mission you're currently in. Just like in a normal TF, you cannot add players mid Task Force.
Im not saying this is not annoying, or not optimal, but it is what it is. I hope they can figure out how to change this MA so that it considers these regular missions and not Task Forces. For me, this is the biggest issue most are having with teaming in this system now.

I can't speak for the original poster Largo but I for one wasn't talking about the MA system. This is happening with normal missions.
Yeah, I was talking about regular missions, not MA missions.
It happened to some friends and me the other day. We were doing lowbie stuff in Mercy.
My wife and I are trying to team up and level up our characters, but whenever we team up, we encounter a problem trying to select the team task.
If I'm in charge and choose her mission, it says "you cannot change the team task because you are not the leader." If I select my own, it isn't a problem. Similarly, if she's the leader, she can select her own, but can't select mine.
Any idea why this is happening and what can be done to fix it?
We're both using Mac, so I posted this both here and in the bugs forum.
