There's a funny part of a radio interview with him to KISS FM here in Arizona, and also the radio station that was at and covered the Premiere. The DJs naturally asked about filming those particular scenes. funny to hear Hugh's answer. lol

It felt solidly like "the middle of something" to me. Like walking into Empire Strikes Back 15 minutes late and leaving a few minutes early.
Now, I'm also not comic-heavy. The only stuff I picked up as a kid were GI Joe, Transformers, and a bunch of New Universe stuff, with Sgt Rock, Haunted Tank and the rest from the library. Most of my reading money went toward airplane magazines. So I don't have a place to nitpick accuracy from (or "Which continuity did this come from?")
It *didn't* feel completely finished to me - but it certainly felt like an origin story to me. It felt in may ways like the Book of Lost Tales or the Silmarilion. And I happen to be a *big* fan of backstory... so I did enjoy it. And I liked how Gambit came out.
So... for me, all in all, it was fun to watch. Not sure I'll *buy* it when the DVD comes out, but it was fun to watch. Just felt like it needed a little something else to make it feel finished.
Also, Liev Whatsisname was much better at Sabretooth than the X-Men movies guy. (Also: better looking!)
I'm saying this from the standpoint of not having read much of any Marvel stuff, so it's not like "he was better from a story point" but "he was more believable and looked more the part" from a "this is what I have gathered from friends, boyfriends, family, etc. along the way" standpoint.
