Crashing while loading/exiting a mission

I crash about 75% of the time while loading or leaving a mission. I've spent a few hours reading posts but I can't find any that say what might be causing the crashes.
Mem is fine, no overheating, updated drivers and a fresh reformat.
I just started playing this week so if anyone has any ideas what is causing the crash and how to fix it i'd appreciate it.
This game runs flawless except when loading.
I'm going to start turning options off in game and see if any of the fix or lessen the problem.

The fastest thing to do is to try running CoH in safe mode for a while. If that still crashes, you've got some sort of more serious problem; if not, turn up one graphics setting at a time and see what is causing you problems.

The two things that zoning stresses are disk access and graphical texture loading. You may want to run a detailed disk check. You can also experiment with using /unloadgfx *before* zoning in your case. (Usually you use it after zoning, to uncache the old zone's graphical info.)

Crashing while loading is almost always a sign of too little ram or else a bad stick of ram. You have 2 gigs which should be plenty unless you have tons of other programs running in the background. You might want to try memtest or another ram testing program to see if you have a bad stick.

Its not the ram I have 4 gigs on hand I prefer to use 2 at a time. I've ran all 4 and crashed. I've swapped the 2 gigs out for the other 2. I'm crashing on Loading of missions and leaving missions only. I don't crash when loading into the game. Its missions only.

I also want to add. I have raided Ulduar all week in world of warcraft no crashes. Medieval total war 2 I have 6,000 troops on screen this morning and no issues what so ever. I'm also playing Sins of a solar empire and getting no crashes.

That is one of two suggestions. Did you try what Miuramir asked or not?

Are you a new player that is trying CoX for the first time through Steam? If so, then maybe that is part of the problem.

/unloadgfx before zoneing did not help. I could see the command did unload tho but it just didnt help.

I have played in safemode and with sound off and with very low settings.

I have crashed over a 100 times in last 2 days every time generates a report and I send it.

This is my first time playing COH through steam. I played COH on this computer about 3 years ago with no problems that was without steam. I'm currently waiting on a response from them.
Sad thing is the only reason I went through steam for COH was because I could download and install in under 45 mins or spend 4 days downloading it from NCsoft. Yes the ncsoft installer is that slow.

Hmmm, well, you've got me stumped. Assuming there are no thunderstorms in your area, I would suggest doing a full disk check on your hard drive overnight. In the meantime, do a /petition in game and get a ticket started up. (They will want your DxDiag so you might as well run it and attach it to your ticket once the ticket gets into the system.)

17 different NCsoft techs telling me to install drivers 182.50. These drivers are very bad for many users when installed the video cards don't register. I've tried 4 times installing these drivers they do not work for my card.
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showforum=33
First page of drivers forums has 13 different threads saying the drivers are bad.

The NCsoft techs tell me im not installing the drivers correctly but for some reason I can install every other driver correctly. They won't even look at the nvidia forums I've linked to them. I'm currently useing the 185 beta drivers which work fine and are newer than the ones they suggested but it still dosen't fix the problem.

Unfortunately, there's been a history of issues with CoH and Steam. Before CoH itself came out on Steam, a number of folks had CoH problems which were resolved by not running Steam in the background while CoH was running. We were kind of surprised to see CoH distributed through them.

I'm not a Steam expert; will it let you turn off the background stuff when playing a game you downloaded through it?

Also note that the practical requirements to run CoH smoothly have increased dramatically over the last several years. A lot of returning folks seem to be finding their systems not up to the task anymore.

Something else to look at is your audio drivers; they seem old, and you've got 3D sound on which some people have had problems with.

You will generally get better results by leaving the resolution set at your monitor's actual resolution, then using the renderscale setting to reduce the rendering load & resolution.

You still have a lot of graphics options turned way up according to your output, and it may be that one of them is problematic for your old card. Make sure you've turned everything down or off that you can to test. It is also possible that the newest driver isn't the best choice for an old card, perhaps someone more familiar with the 7800 GS can chime in.
