Interested in difficult arcs? Come to Aleph.

Myself, my wife, and a couple friends came back to City of... to see what the Mission Architect had to offer. We've been pleasantly surprised - we'd been hoping for more challenging content, and it delivers. As a result, I started a thread over in the Architect forum asking the community to provide us with difficult missions. Judging by the results thus far, it looks like we'll be spending quite some time doing this.

If you are interested in playing highly difficult missions, if you laugh in the face of death and find nothing frustrating but other people giving up, if you can do all that and remain interested in the small fun details people put into the arcs they create.. we could use your help.

Also, if you're interested in getting feedback on your own challenging content, we would be more than happy to help you.

We aren't a roleplaying group (sorry to say), and while we have a SG and VG up for convenience, our real means of organization is a global chat channel. Courtesy of the RWZ, we aren't much concerned with whether you're a hero or a villain - we're here to play a game and have fun with it.

If you would like more information, you can contact me via PM here, global chat as @Svlad, or at the quick forums I've tossed up here.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Dont run it with less than 4 people and one had better be a debuffer...LOL I suggest a Rad...

Soloed it. The Giant Monster fights took a long time, but they weren't hard really. The NPC ally definitely helped, especially with the autoexemp down to 30.

Gratz on completing it solo.... I believe you are the only person to do so. At least you used the NPC "Illusion OSHA" as he was meant to be used, as your debuffer for the mission. What AT were you on?

Thanks. I was on an Illusion/Radiation controller myself, so I had a lot of synergy with Illusion OSHA.

Slax: Actually, I wouldn't mind getting some information on that unplayable arc. I like solving puzzles, even if that one will likely have to wait until we have a few more options in terms of what characters to bring.

OSHA: Your arc is on the queue. We've got a lot of arcs to clear, so it'll be a bit, but we'll get through it.

Unplayable as in it's a broken farm experiment. I should probably take it down before I get reported. O noes.

It's not just about running difficult arcs, per se. It's about running content that isn't a mindless "run through and slay things". It's about getting your spandex-encased heinie handed to you and just brushing yourself off, laughing, and commenting "Well, that didn't work..." And then once you've switched chars, thrown yourself at the wall a few more times, and finally succeeded.. that's when you switch things up and go play an easy arc and make snarky comments to your new-found friends the entire time.

If you like discussing arcs, builds that annihilate bosses without blinking, running the difficult arcs, building the arcs and seeking honest feedback about them, then I highly recommend joining the Aleph global channel. You're not required to do anything if you do, it's just another place to find friends and talk about the harder sides of CoX.

I was not paid to make this endorsement. Your mileage may vary. Offer excludes Emp sets. "Your mom."
