This is what I could find from the Paragon Wiki: Game Ports

There is a link at the bottom for the official Knowledge Base page too.

Hope that helps.

Cliff notes answer, no you can't.

Why do you think you want to?

Scrappers are just like chainsaws. Somewhat hard to handle, EXTREMELY dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane.

I would like to change the ports to navigate around a firewall that has ports open for WoW. For some reason my college allows people to play WoW but all other gaming port are open. So I thought if I could change the ports I could play.

If you know of a reliable one (ie. one that you can trust not to steal your info), then you can try a proxy server. I had the same issue with a college, once, and that seemed to work...but it was a different game and a different time...

I might do that.. I was considering setting up a VPN to my home connection. But I figured if I could do it an easier way I would..

Just to reiterate, YES we can.

1) Right-click your shortcut for City of Heroes/Villains.

2) Choose Properties.

3)In the Target field, add a space, a dash, the word "port", a space, and 13094.

Before: "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe"

After: "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -port 13094

4) Click OK.

5) Start the game normally using the shortcut.

However, the only 3 ports you can try to force the Updater to use are 6994, 13094 or 23094.

There are also some routers that let you use a type of port forwarding or mapping to do what you're looking for. You specify the ip and port that you are actually using, and then the ip and port you want to use for the 'mask' once the packets are sent out beyond the router.

I'm not actually sure if that would help you, but you may want to look for a router that offers that option to see if it'll do what you're looking for.

Ah, not quite. That's changing the port the updater uses for patches. You can't change the ports the actual client uses.

IIRC WoW uses the standard port 80 for his connection to the server. Which is why it's easy for WoW player to pass through firewall. COH uses 1 port to connect to the updater server ( to get the patchs) and then a different port to get to the game servers.

As Father said... only the updater port can be modified.

Since I hardly ever see you being wrong about anything, I accept that I probably have egg on my face now. Except, the NCsoft pages aren't so clear. From NCsoft help:

Both home routers and commercial routers can block the network ports required by the game. City of Heroes and City of Villains require the following ports to be open:

All of these ports:
TCP 2104
TCP 2106
UDP 7000-7100

One of the following ports:
TCP 6994 or TCP 13094 or TCP 23094

These ports must be fully unrestricted and accessible inbound and out. If you are connecting to the game while on a campus or business network, please consult your network administrator to verify that those ports are available. If those ports are blocked, you will unfortunately not be able to play City of Heroes or City of Villains using that Internet connection.

All of that info refers to client-side ports. The help page that I quoted starts with the heading, "I have a problem patching or logging on to City of Heroes or City of Villains. While that page does not specifically say it changes the port that we log into the game with, the page heading would seem to infer that.
