Player Character name in NPC text
You can get a whole list of them by talking to the AE trainer person in the AE building. $himher, $heshe, etc.

There is also apparently a problem if the mobs haven't noticed you yet. I have seen they say $name in their text for the unaware dialog. I assume this is because they don't have a target.
Only seen it in others missions though never bothered to test it outmyself. Could be they have done something I can't imagine wrong.

You can't please everyone, so lets concentrate on me.
I use $target in Boss Kills Player, $name everywhere else. I am not sure that either will work in patrol texts, though.
$target only yields strange result when bosses end up killing pets and NPCs. Boss kill statements fire when the boss kills pets or other NPCs as well as player characters.

$target becomes problematic when the speaker has no target. $name is supposed to give the name without having a target.
Dec out.
Are there replacement variables so I can have the player's name appear in the mission text, or in NPC text. Something like 'Curses! $heroname has appeared!' which translates to 'Curses! Dr Invincible has appeared!' when Dr Invincible plays my mish?
