Now the package had gotten the attention of Sarah and Kia as well, Johnny jumping on the shoulder of the Tornado as she rose to get a closer look at the thing, for he certainly wanted one too.
"That looks almost like a pnevma spirit." she remarked curiously, reaching out a hand in a requesting gesture, "May I...?"

"A...pnevma spirit?" Akemi said, hesitating on the unfamiliar word. "What does that mean? Is it bad?" Cautiously, she stood on tiptoe to peer over Sam's shoulder at the thing. "It's pretty, whatever it is."
"Be my guest." Sam said, handing over the Item. "Just don't go blowing us up. I still have bills to pay" the older man said another smile finding his face.

Eileen stood at the back of the little cluster, giving the glowing orb a brief once-over. Not having any particular knowledge of it, she refrained from comment, although her hand slid into her bag to retrieve her phone; if anything horrible popped out of the glowing thing, Energon X was going to be arriving in a matter of moments.
Of course, by the time that happened, Eileen would have found out whether or not the horrible thing was vulnerable to repeated blunt trauma or not. More than one Vahzilok had found that 'civilian' and 'defenseless' were not synonymous, at least when applied to Eileen Troy. Particularly when she was carrying something heavy.

Darren approached the house of his former teacher slowly. His right hand still holding the cut on his head and his left toting his history book. His bag was slung over his shoulder and he was favoring his right leg. As he got to the steps in front of the house he noticed a car pulled halfway up on the curb and looked at it curiously, it looked vacant.
He shook his head and continued up the stairs. When he got to the door he resituated his history book and knocked on the door, calling out.
"Mr. Winston? You home?"
Darren was going had just started his senior year at Blyde Comprehensive, "School for norms". He was a generally bright lad, if not a bit clumsy, but had always had a failing in History, all those dates and dead people. He never understood why it was so important that he learn what day of the week Washington had crossed the Delaware. So he had planned on asking his retired history teacher for some tutoring lessons... Now he planned on asking him for a band-aid as well.
"Bad?" Sarah couldn't help but smile at that, looking to Akemi while Sam handed her the thing, "Of course not. Pnevma spirits are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. Very shy, though."
The Tornado then returned her attention to the sphere, and upon that her eyes narrowed and she moved her face in closer.
"Okay, that's just weird." she stood up straight again, scratching her neck, "If we were on the island right now, I'd swear this was a car's lift generator...but all cars here run on wheels and internal combustion engines...don't they?"
That got Kia's attention as well, for though she didn't really know anything about cars in general, she had seen under the hood of a human-made one once, and there definitely hadn't been anything magical in there. Ergo, this was really weird, and thus she also made her way over, finding a spot beside Mr. Winston and Akemi to get her own look at the thing while the others talked.
Of course, before she could add anything to the matter, there sounded another knock on the door, which now happened to be right behind her.
"I'll get it." she announced happily, grabbing the knob and opening the door while still in the process of speaking, "That should be the guys."
Of course, once she'd actually pulled the door fully open and turned to look at the young, history-book-wielding human there, her expression shifted from an expectant smirk to a curious regard.
"Well hey there." the mountain dragon greeted Darren warmly, though a moment later she already spotted the cut on his forehead and instinct took over, Kia reaching down to him, "Oh, that doesn't look good! Sir Winston, do you have any first-aid supplies...?"

Darren gasped as the door opened and took a step backward, obviously not expecting a dragon to answer it. This step back placed his foot precisely 6 inches above anything solid, which in turn caused his center of gravity to shift back, resulting in Darren falling backward down the stairs.
As he began falling his eyes widened more than they had been and his hands flailed out for something to grab on to.
When the knock sounded against the door, Winston made a move towards it, but Kia answered first. "First aid kit? Yeah, I have one. Uh...Why?" The older man said, moving to the door. He was there just in time to catch the flailing boy.
"Darren!" Winston called out, yanking him from his fall. He straightened him up and looked him in the eye. "Okay. One: You alright? and Two: What the heck are you doing here?"

The exclamation point popped into existence over Kia's head with the same blatant spontaneity as Darren and Sam, a hand shooting out to catch the falling boy even as her wings stiffened in reflex, expecting aerial loading. Of course, it didn't come to that, the house owner's reaction speed preempting her intervention.
"From the looks of it, I'd say he came here to talk to you about history." she remarked while she crouched to pick up the fallen book, offering it back to Darren, "Though that cut really doesn't look good..."

Darren clamped his hands around Sam's as he fought to regain his balance. His history book tumbled once more to the ground.
"Uh, yeah... I'm fine, just uh... just didn't expect to see another.. er reptile.. person. Let alone answering your door."

Darren nodded softly to Kia as he took the proffered book.
"Thanks for that... and sorry for my reaction... today has just been uh... odd, I guess is the word for it." Darren looked back to Sam. "Yeah I was kind of hoping for a bit of help with uh..." He holds up the history book.
"... Cut?.. Oh, this.. yeah. I took a bit of a tumble... into a park bench... at full speed. Stupid Skulls" He put his hand back to his head and blinked hard, trying to ignore his oncoming headache.
"Mountain dragon." Kia corrected with a genial smile as Darren took the book, remaining somewhat crouched to keep at eye level with him, "Name's Kia, by the way."
She was about to ask what the boy meant with 'another', but when she noticed movement in the corner of her eye, seeing a certain one-horned dragon in the sky quickly let her put two and two together - especially with him carrying a water sort in his arms, and tossing glances characteristic of navigation in unknown terrain in all directions.
"Let me guess: you ran into Billy." she motioned toward the approaching duo, then gave a sagely nod, along with a sigh, "Why oh why am I not surprised...?"

"Billy?", Pax repeated, a vaguely exasperated tone in her voice though it was also easy enough to tell she was kidding. "I swear, every time I look away for a second you guys multiply." She laughed before going back to inspecting what she now recognised as a Pnevma spirit (Or at least something very much like one), thanks to Sarah's more reliable memory. "Hmm, I don't remember them living inside gold and silver containers like that..."

"Huh? So it's not a spirit then? That'd explain the container I guess", Pax answered, looking up at the dragon from where she'd been looking at the not-a-spirit. "And yeah, in this time I'm pretty sure they do. So where'd this come from and why was it sent to you, Sammy boy?"

"Be glad they didn't drag Ace and Player along too." Sarah retorted with a somewhat fiendish smirk and a glance to Sam, "Otherwise, you'd probably have a bunch of metalheads popping off your roof already."
"Hey, I resent that!" came Kia's shout from outside, causing the Tornado and Johnny alike to snicker.
"And no, it's not a spirit." Sarah went on, tapping the thing with a finger as if to demonstrate its solid nature, "Which makes that a very good question then...because as far as I know, we're the only ones from the island with means to come to this world, and I really doubt the other Ace wouldn't have told us if that were different..."

"The contents of this house are what keep multiplying...I'll be back, guys, nobody go anywhere. Anyone have a problem with pepperoni and hot wings?" Akemi asked, scooping her satchel onto her back and tightening the straps.
"Actually, you mind adding mushrooms and olives to that?" Sarah remarked, her free hand digging about in her pockets, "I've still got some money left over...if I can find my wallet..."
Outside, the one-horned dragon now set down, traversing the final distance to the house on foot, Kia already glaring that characteristic look-of-impending-doom at him. Standing straight again, once he got close she added that familiar growl, "Billyyyy..."
"Now, now, jus' one moment before y' tear me apart." he grinned innocently back at her, moving the red water dragon in his arms somewhat, "I can explain, really I can."
"Go on." she motioned with a hand right away, having long since gotten used to Bill's heavy, quasi-Irish accent, "What did you do to him?"
"Well actually, it wan'n so much me as th' dirigible." he answered, quickly going on when he saw the raised eyebrow, "See ther's one on over in Atlas Park, an' when I saw it, I had the same idea as you did with Player. Only I thought you know, mebbe if he can' see he was off the ground, he won' have anything' t'be scared of. Weeeyll...me hypoth'sis sank. Real fast."
This seemed to get Kia calmed down again, "What happened?"
"Same thing as with you an' Player." Bill replied with a shrug of shoulders, "Lot of screaming, lot of squeaming...aaan' then he went an' faint'd."
The mountain dragon only let out a long sigh with a pleading look to the tops of her eyesockets, then motioned to the house, "Okay, fine, go get him inside. I think one of the couches is free now."
"Rite." Bill gave a nod before he proceeded, then a genial smile to Darren as he did, "Guess we were headed to the same place. Y'sure you don' wan' me t' take a look a' that? I am a doctor, y'know..."

"AHA!", Pax practically yelled in the manner of someone suddenly having a stunning revelation. "So you admit it, you're not from this world!" She burst out laughing, though it was fairly obvious she was laughing with them rather than at them. Or maybe she was laughing at herself, who knows. Stopping after a while, she looked over at Akemi.
"Yeah, pizza sounds good to me", she commented before getting an odd look on her face. "Actually, come to think of it..." She snatched the not-a-spirit out of Sarah's hands and disappeared in that same golden light that people always associate with time travel - for good reason.

"Huh?" Sarah took a moment to connect the dots, then realized what the peacebringer spoke of, a hand quickly atop her head and an embarrassed grin on her face, "Ohhh, right...sorry about that. I meant to tell you, but then the robot came in and everything, and I didn't really get a chance to. Kind of forgot about it after that."
It was true, of course. When the Tornado had said 'what if I told you' earlier, she really had just wanted to see Pax's reaction - of course, with the kind of reaction she'd had there, things had taken a very unexpected direction then, and one after another, further factors had added themselves to the mix until it had simply no longer held enough immediate importance to keep recalling.
"But yeah, that's what that thing's for." Sarah motioned to the large, long bag she'd carried in earlier, "We call it the space bazooka."
Naturally, that's when things skewed from the expected yet again, Pax snatching and pulling a Houdini before the Tornado could even say anything in that regard, left there with naught but a very puzzled look on her face - and Johnny's as well.
"That was weird." he remarked to Sarah, still on her shoulder, turning his head look up at her, "What was that all about...?"

Darren shook his head in response to the queried aid. "No, I think I just need to head out and go lie down for awhile. And besides that, I have an Exam I really need to study for."
Darren waved to everyone, turned, and walked home.
"Okay...well...pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives. Right? And hot wings. And do we need more drinks?" Akemi turned to Sam, adding, "Sorry to kind of take over, but it looks like we'll be staying for dinner, if that's okay with you, and I don't want to be a drain on your groceries...especially not after I made you drop some of them."
Bill and Kia alike felt a bit put off, but opted not to say anything about it, instead returning their own waved goodbyes. Then the one-horned dragon finally got a chance to greet the house's owner.
"You must be Sir Winston 'en." he gave a warm nod to the man, "A pleasur'. William Brown, but everyun' calls me Bill. Forgive me if I don' shake yer han', but..."
He lifted the red dragon in his arms up a bit with his shrug, "...as you can see, I kinda got me arms full. One moment."
With that, he stepped inside, finally doing as Kia had asked, in the process catching the tail end of the conversation with Akemi, which due to its main subject being food got his attention almost instantly. He was starving.
"Aye, an' a lot more than just drinks a' tha'." he answered eagerly while carefully laying his charge upon the sofa, then putting his own backpack down before bending rearward and stretching his back and wings, "Ohhh, da's muuuch better...so, wha' be this I'm hearing about food?"
"Pizza and wings." Sarah answered, finally locating her wallet while Kia sat down by the water dragon's head. The Tornado motioned to Akemi, "Miss Akemi here offered to-"
"Ah, say no more." Bill stopped her with a hand held up and a confident smile, turning to the mountain dragon a moment to ask, "The usual then? Pik too?"
"...yeah, I think so." Kia nodded after a short debate in her head, "He'll be hungry when he comes to."
"Rite then." was Bill's retort, and then he turned to Akemi, "You dun' mind if I come with, do you...?"

Sam was amused by the turn of events. "You're fine Akemi. Get whatever you want. I'm not picky. But here, lte me help pay for this. I feel wrong making you pay for it." Winston said ruffling around his jacket. With a worried look, he realized he was broke. "Ah, nuts. Seems I'm broke. I will find a way to pay you back, Akemi, I promise. "The older man said, the sincerity clear in his voice.

"Don't worry about it," Akemi grinned. "It's coming out of my slush fund." She turned to Bill. "Um...sure, I guess you can come with. We might be a while, but I could probably use the help carrying stuff anyhow." With a wave, she slid out the door. "We'll be back in a bit...if Pax comes back, let her know where we headed off to, please?"
"Sure thing." Sarah told Akemi as she headed back to the couch to have her own look at Pik, just in case there was something Bill had missed.
"Aye, we hav' you cover'd." he in turn added to Sam with a confirming nod before following the purple-haired girl out the door, "So den, and what's your name...?"

What it was all about became apparent as Pax reappeared in that same golden light, stepping out of nowhere carrying not one but two of the strange devices. "Knew I'd seen it before", she commented, holding up the second one. It was different from the first in that it was made of somewhat different materials, but the general principles and mechanics of the technology were the same. It also looked like it had seen more than its fair share of use.
"Got this from some hundred years in the future. Antique by then and on a pile of scrap, so no one should miss it. I'll put it back later just in case though. Anyway..." She turned to Sam. "Wanna tell me why literally futuristic technology is being delivered to your door?"
