When the Shields set for tankers went live, the power screen indicated that Against All Odds had a short taunt duration in its aura, the same as Willpower's.

With the latest patch, that went up to the standard duration for non-WP sets.

Which is intended?

Most experience is with Broadsword / Shield scrapper.

Subjective:
The total defense seems to operate below a certain "Effectiveness Threshold", at least against Unyielding-level mobs.
I grouped with a FF defender this one time, and felt near Unstoppable.
I grouped with a sonic defender, and while survived, there were several anxious moments per mission.
The rest of time felt unhappily similar to a blaster, all that debuff def adds up.

Objective:
I don't mind click mez protection, but its Animation is huge PITA.
Long-[censored] activation time, and it always puts your weapon away.
All these delays add up during a dangerous fight.
Wish they'd swap the animation with one of the shield toggles.

Endurance issues...
During many fights, hit 0 end with only half the mobs defeated, then all toggles drop. With maxed out stamina!
Would gladly trade long-recharge OWTS for WP Quick Recovery.

"Just roll a WP scrapper" isn't the solution I'm looking for, this set should be just as viable even if it is defense based.

hmmm shield characters dont need quick recovery persay but maybe add in a secondary effect to against all odds, where the more mobs in melee range the shield character not only gains there +damage/mob but a +recovery aspect as well to make it similar to quick recovery but it wouldn't need to be that effective.

but if any powers were to change one with the shield could definately be changed as shields don't really need any tier 9 like crashing powers but maybe an auto +melee/ranged/aoe defense by 10%, which would make it better than hover, combat jumping, stealth and weave, and be fitting for the concept, as one with the shield would be so well trained with the shield that their instincts would make them able to block/deflect that many more attacks with that level of ease due to the sheer training that they've had to get to that level.

Pros:
1. Looks Cool
2. Great damage with "Against all Odds." I see big damage numbers all the time with my fire/shield toon.

Cons:
1. Huge endurance issues. Always feel like I'm winded
2. Low defense debuff protection. Especially before 22, you'll need to team with support AT's or set your difficulty on heroic.
3. No self heal. Forced into taking Aid Self since defense debuff protection is so low.
4. Team Buff power is kinda useless. You could replace or repair this buff with something actually useful to AT.

Recommendations:
1. Increase defense debuff protection.
2. Replace team buff with something useful or simply allow the defense boost to also apply to the player.
3. Throw in regen, heal or recovery boost somewhere. If one is given, you could slot for the others with IOs.
