Potentially stupid question about posting a story

I've got the first chapter of something written, and I'm not entirely certain that I've started it off well... do you guys only post COMPLETED stuff on here?

Very few people post completed stuff as far as I can tell. I'd say that if you're hungry for feedback, that the serial format is going to generate more of it. Just my experience, given that people read it multiple times when it's serialized.

Keep in mind that the forum has a limited time window on editing, so you won't be able to come back a month later and "fix" something.

Think the editing window is somewhere around 24 hours or so...not really sure except for -
A)I can post this and come back tomorrow around the same time and edit it.
B)If I were to try editing this same post say...on Tuesday, I probably couldn't.
C)If you've past that editing window, simply make a whole new (edits post) or just add in some kind of ((OOC: dialogue)) in the next post of your story, to explain anything which you may or may not leave out.

Oh, and posting completed stories? NEVAR.

Hint: Use a word processor to write your story with, one chapter or whatever at a time, copying/pasting it to the boards after a once over for typos/whatnots. Save to file for future reference.

Hah... post completed stuff?

... *points to Ascendant*

Nah, nobody much posts completed stuff that I've ever noticed, unless it's very short. So, to answer your question as succinctly as possible: no.

IMO, no story is ever truly finished.
Especially fanfiction
E.S.P.E.C.I.A.L.L.Y. fanfiction
I only have one semi-complete story on here and even I wouldn't consider it complete :P
Needs fleshing out, y'know
