I try to work in this method: clients first, then freebies if any, and then what I feel like last, sometimes ... and this is per given day, not period of the queue I just DO what I like, though usually that is after the client...
I use to work on nothing but clients, but that really burnt me out.
edit: also working on other stuff keeps me fresh for when I do, work only on clients for that day... sometimes when it's the weekend, you really just want to draw what might inspire you if anything... also I don't like owing free drawings, that is to say if I promised free art to someone, I make every effort to give that gift in between client work.
Kara - Heh thanx. The eye patch came after the pink cape didn't seem enough, the patch seems to work better now that I think about it. I lucked out with thinking of Willy. I thought of One Eye Willy from The Goonies. Noticed the play on words that fit the theme here, Changed it to Dead Eye in case I play the char very far, didn't want to risk a generic, heh.
