Demo help please
There is a problem with Demo's launching base textures. One of Zloths tools had a little blurb about it. Base textures are not a static part of the game like zones are so the game probably can't just refer to a stored file to create the area.
Sorry. :-/

Other thing to consider...
When you changed yourself into Manticore, did you still leave a line like:
0 30 NEW Player
(Or whatever number was assigned to you that you later changed to Manticore?)
Because you need to have at least one Player on the map. I usually get around that by positioning "myself" either directly behind the camera or about 2 feet below it (which often hides me in the floor while still allowing me to record).

Well this is a very interesting problem. I did a little messing about on my own and found that adding an NPC to a base makes most of it go invisible. The only things visible were Players, NPC's, and base objects that you can interact with (teleporters, vault etc.). It happened whether the NPC was replacing the player or just being stuck into the demo.
The really strange thing is that the base was still a big empty sky of floating objects even when I took the NPC back out, even though the original demo worked just fine.
That sounds like it's saving wrong, which isn't surprising. Those bases aren't text data like the rest of demos, they are binary. My demo editor doesn't even try messing with that stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Notepad got confused sometimes, too.
It's a pity that the base command doesn't use that old "uuencode" technology to store 8-bit binary data as 7-bit text. Ah well.
Maybe it will in the future after all... "I 13 : all your bases now belong to us"
But anyways, yeah I kept the player line so it wasnt that and yes the original demo plays just fine.
Does anyone know how I am able to stick manticores mask onto a normal character? If i can do that with like a special PARTSNAME then i could avoid the entire NPC code that makes this happen.
So by the way you guys are all talking... there isnt any way to fix this is there?

Introductions, Obey,
It doesn't look like there's a way to do it right now, as far as I can tell. There's no way to put manticore's mask on a regular player either, I'm afraid.
I am having a problem with my demo i am editing and its really frustrating. I really need this thing working cuz I am making my own coh comic book.
This demo is going to give me a good 5 shots need for the comic that is almost all done, just waiting on this and something else.
The problem is that i recorded it in my base and when I cahnge myself into Manticore, the walls, floor and cealing of the base dissapear.
I didnt touch anything cept for myself so what am I doing wrong? Is there something I have to add in or whatnot to make this thing work?
Please someone help me out here. PLEASE!
