alternate art methods

I was wondering if there were any methods in this new age to create comic book-ish pictures

seeing as how my regular "pencil-paper" improvement is slow going
and I am still new to this whole "art thing" :P

Thunder is good, thunder is impressive, but lightning does the work.

Hero Machine comes to mind, I don't know whats going on with that these days, I think there's still a free limited version of it, and then the full thing is like $10 or something, maybe less.

Then there's a free online one, but its in Portugeuse IIRC (havent been there in a while). http://www.iniciative.com.br/edu/heroomatic/fabrica.swf Play with it a bit, and you should be able to figure it out though.

Both work like paper dolls. You chose art of the body, then you go through and slowly add art on top of it, you get more of an animated cartoon style hero at the end. Lots and lots of options in both of them, but I think the Portugeuse one is better... and free. Just got to fiddle with it a bit to really learn it.

I may hate you for linking to that.

I've already spent an hour and seen a dozen things that would be fun to try and manipulate into the City Of generator.

Which means I'll need to make more alts.

And spend more time on things that aren't what I should be spending time on.

:P
