Some more newb arts of mine....

Despite lack of progress, I'm still at it....
First up is a bit old, but I never posted it, its of an SG mate's "Storm Patriot," that I did on a whim for him that I think turned out really good. As with a lot of the things I've uploaded, I did it on the back of some school papers (never thinking it'd get far enough I'd want to upload it), and so you can see some of the bleed through on it. I meant to go back and clean up some of that, but for some reason the tools in PSP that I would have used to do that, stop working whenever I have that pic open. Go figure. And the scanner cut off the top of his hair, and the tips of his toes. :/

The second one is one I just finished this morning, and am growing increasingly fond of. Hated it at first, but sort of like it now... Tainted's "Solarscape" Same story with the text bleeding through, though I was able to edit it out pretty well I think.

Opinions and critiques welcome, I know I'm no Michaelangelo.

I like Solarscape!

They're a bit flat, but that'll come with practice, just keep at it! You've obviously got a good eye for colors!

Nice. Not the most original concepts but I like the pics.

Heh, wish I could take credit, but neither are my designs I do love them both though, having good designs makes drawing and coloring them all that much more fun.

As far as flatness goes, I think parts of them look more flat than others, and I'm trying to not only figure out what specifically makes them that way, but how to avoid it while I'm actually drawing it, especially when I'm doing the main lines.

As for the lack of progress comment, while I do like these pics, I don't think I've improved really at all since I started drawing in March (especially faces), I have picked up a few tricks since I started using PSP though. If my pics look any better now than before, its because of that, which is frustrating because I'd really like my actual drawings to look better...

Nice. those really aren't that bad, though you need to tweak proportions and "Depth" to some note... they're hard to get used to but it's ye old "learning to walk" type thing there, once you get it you get it. (some times you get it TO much and end up doing the same thing over and over, like me and my robots DX)

((really wish my scanner worked so I could show off some newb are of my own :P))

Thats one thing I'm worried about, everything I do that looks even remotely good is the same type of sketch, and its a straightforward and boring pose. I'd love to do more dynamic things, and more interesting poses, but nothings worked so far. I really wanted to do something like that for the Solarscape one. The wings BEG for it, and I couldn't seem to do it right.
