The 2008 CoH/V Olympics and Fan Art

Good morning all,

I just wanted to briefly introduce myself. I've been running an Olympics on the Champion server for the past three years now. After our last one concluded, I assembled a small team of people that had participated in the events and discussed with them the plausibility of expanding our Olympic games to the other servers. Well, to make a long story short, we've done a bit of planning on how to expand and adapt our Olympics to be able to be hosted on multiple servers in 2008, but there's still a long ways to go. We'd like to develop new events, of course, to keep the Olympics fresh and to also make it a bit friendlier to host across multiple servers simultaneously. Hosting it on Champion is one thing, as well as helping someone else host it on another server, but its a monumental increase in work to bring it to all of the servers. My team and I think its possible, and we're all willing to put in the work to see it happen correctly, but we can always use more help - and that's where you come in. If you would like to work with us on planning and hosting the next Olympics, please feel free to contact me or my lovely cohost Genna.

More specifically, we'd like to make this event as polished as possible, so we're looking for some talented people that'd like to help us with artwork...both in terms of promotional and rewards (such as a winner of a certain event might receive artwork of their triumph). If you'd like more information as to what we're thinking, or if we've piqued your curiosity, please feel free to reply to us.

I would say follow the link in my signature for more information, but, unfortunately, the w00tradio server change over lost our old web page. To give you an idea of what the past Olympics have been like, we've typically had several hundred contestants attending our events. The last Olympics was about 25 events in all when you factor in the various weight classes, and it spanned 4 weeks (so it sounds like a lot, but it was maneagable by just a handful of people). Some of the events were standard pvp tournaments or races to complete task forces. Other events were testing your survivability against particularly cruel missions (my favorite was a little cozy place known as the Death Box...2 villains go into a one room mission set for a team of 8 on relentless, complete with an EB) or AVs (we've enjoyed the company of Psi Babbage, Mother Mayhem, and many more to say the least), and others still involved badge collection, relay races, and scavenger hunts. So...there's a good mix of pvp, pve, and badge-ing involved.

Anyways, back to your normally scheduled programming. Thanks for listening.

I'd be interested in helping out... but I'm booked solid for this month. If it's Dec, maybe I can swing some help your way.

It'd be a little in December, but really picking up with 2008. Still interested?
