From what I can recall from that movie the Warriors weren't the most powerful gang just the best 
In fact the members of it spent the entire movie being outnumbered and outgunned. What made them so good was being the underdogs that survived against all the odds, much like the Warriors in the game versus the Tsoo and Freakshow and whatnot.
It wasn't bad, but I would have liked to have seen a bio on Odysseus. I was rather disappointed when I clicked the Top Secret folder and the testimonials popped up instead of a leader bio.
